Sounds like he wanted to compare and contrast sound decision making with poor decision making.

I cannot even begin to understand the thought process of someone who listens to a Democrat politician or TV pundit read a scripted rant and think, "He's right! I'm gonna go out and commit violence and try to martyr myself!!!"
It starts to make more sense when you consider that these people have mostly rejected everything that makes life seem meaningful - children, religion, and patriotism. To fill the resulting void in their hearts they create devils and fight them. They need an endless supply of just causes.
At first it was civil rights for black people - a noble cause - but as the decades went by, and more and more disaffected people were brought into parity under the law, they turned to increasingly bizarre causes. Now it’s boys playing women’s sports and illegal immigrants.

Woke up, read this thread and wondered how so many of you can be so hateful toward others with different viewpoints or political affiliation, yet call your Christians and pretend to be role models for your children.

How does one determine what is a “conservative Protestant church”?
IDK, but the Unitarians ain't one.

I’d suggest ditching the mass and take your son to a conservative Protestant church
However, I try to be a good friend and respectful to those who have differing opinions and rarely discuss faith unless approached to do so. Even then I refrain going too deeply because a person’s faith is a private matter.
Regardless of the intentions of the OP, someone recounted a significant event in their life and child’s life and another poster inquired about their church’s polity. Maybe just let that be without pseudo-proselytizing in a not too veiled attempt to critique their religious choices.

Spending your free time with your family instead of interfering with federal law enforcement agents doing their job is setting a fantastic example for young children.

For some reason, The Left has successfully brainwashed an entire generation into believing there is a word called Self-Responsibility.
In every single person I see on Social Media supporting ICE, in their life stories, their failures are always because of someone or something else. Not once is it THEIR fault.

Upvoted except for the part about watching Stranger Things. I wouldn’t let my children watch that garbage. It is mind pollution at its worst. It has all the elements of the worst crap to come across the tube - constantly taking the Lord’s name in vane, promotion of homosexuality, demonic elements, DEI nonsense, anti-military, etc., etc., etc.
Edited to add: also extreme and graphic violence unsuitable for children.

Yep. Stranger Things is demonic leftist crap. Can’t believe he’s letting his kid watch that. Unbelievable

Go back to reddit or the shithole DU from whence you came. You have no friends here.

Howdy, not look for friends, vindication, or validation...just expressing my opinion. Gig'em!!

I accompanied my son to his First Reconciliation mass. Then we went out and had a nice lunch. After that we had a birthday party for one of his classmates. We got home around 6 and put up some Mardi Gras decorations and now him and I are watching Stranger Things.
Holy white privilege.

See you guys on 26 Sep 2026 for another beatdown. Looking forward to singing the fight song again at the end of the game. We are very friendly and don't mind if you stick around afterwards to join us in sawing Varsity's horns short. We know you don't like Texas either. Gig'em.

Every day now I thank God that I’m not unfortunate enough to find myself armed in the middle of a chaotic situation in freezing cold weather confronting strung out Federal agents.
Luck of the draw I guess.

"not shocked" is pretty nebulous. Honestly, Tx A&M is probably the most conservative school in the SEC, so your comment was confusing. I forgive your ignorance.
