I have been using Yuka for several months. I am amazed at the difference is brands. Publix has 2 types of organic half and half and one has additives that give it a bad score and the other one doesnt have it.
But a lot of people dont look at the ingredients, they look for organic or whatever and assume its healthy.
Was going through it during hunting season at the camp. Someone had brought some Little Debbies like Saban eats. They have 27 additives... and a score of 0/100.

I'm sure homemade sourdough is the best, but I get one from Aldi that only has three ingredients which is good.

Yes it is. I’ve been using it for a couple months and have used it mainly to stay away from harmful additives and have lost 10 pounds just doing that and buying healthier alternatives with no other changes.

Very important.
It's easy to worry about what goes in your body. You also have to watch what goes on it.

I have been using for a while. It is awesome and scary once you see the absolute shite that we are feed here in this country. I will continue to use it. I have recommended many friends and family as well.

Ehh I’d be cautious with this app - it should be used for telling which ingredients are bad/good. Not if something is healthy. For example, this item here is possibly the healthiest thing a human can buy in a store and it is giving it a “poor” 43/100 score solely due to the salt. The average person would see that and think this is bad for them when in reality it’s better for them than pretty much anything else they will touch in the store.

Yeah I was going to say to be sure to read why it gives it a certain score and not just look at the score itself. If it gives it a low score due to certain nutritional values but it has no additives then I make that decision for myself. I use it mostly to find foods that have bad additives that I wouldn't normally notice. Like coffee creamer. Good God it has so many additives. Started using chobani which is only cream, sugar, and vanilla extract.

Imagine people being upset at RFKjr and HHS wanting to remove the poisons from our food and the products we buy.

Aldi's has a killer Dave knockoff just as good but half the price

Agreed. That product would be a 100/100 in my book. I think the idea about Na being unhealthy should be taken with a grain of salt
But point taken, the app is great, but its limited. I was a beta tester and offered several ideas for improvement. I really like some of what they have going, especially with the additives people can't pronounce. I did suggest they implement a slider for good/bad for people that wanted to input their own options...like my seed oil slider would be way up for bad ingredients, sugars way up and things like Na and tallow oil lower. They said it would be too difficult to implement
Your stuck with a small group of peoples opinions on what is healthy or not. For instance, skin products...I would never put sunscreen on my skin. That is some nasty stuff. I'd rather be hot and cover the skin with clothes. I will use the titanium dioxide stuff on tace. To each their own, but I would love an app like Yuka that is custimizable...that would be awesome.

Sweet. My favorite snacks are made with these two. Just looked at them.
But 75% of my pantry has to go.

Yuka App - backed by RFK (MAHA) is phenomenal
This app has some sketchy science.
I keep hearing the phrase "Banned in Europe but not the US", that doesn't make it inherently bad.
Also it doesn't take into account moderation, like nut butters get bad scores for having too many calories...so don't eat half a cup of peanut butter
Salt is another one. There is no medical reason to watch your salt intake, within reason, if you are healthy. People hear about docs recommending low salt diets for blood pressure issues, so they think it can give you blood pressure issues and that's just not true. Eat salt, you'll be fine.
It hates MSG and as study after study has shown, there is no proof its bad for you. It hates all additives regardless of the amount which is ludicrous also.
It loves "organic foods", whatever that means...as opposed to inorganic foods? That labeling is a scam.
Want to be healthy?
Excercise
Get good sleep
Limit your alcohol and sugar
Eat more whole foods
Eat less processed foods
Enjoy your life. The end.

I think most generally healthy people can withstand way more salt than the daily allowance. If you already have moderately high BP, it might help to curtail it a little.
I tell people this with advice from Dave Ramsey too, it's just a template for people to go by. If you struggle with these things, maybe follow the advice a bit more. If you're pretty well educated on these things and don't have the issues that some other have, then keep doing what you are doing and just use a a little bit of advice.
