One of my orders for room service might have to include alcohol

I read about a guy who tested positive at a Mexican resort and got locked up in isolation (spouse in another room). The resort brought him food but no alcohol. That's rough.

We did overdo it at Selfridges — which is probably the only reason Mrs Bok hasn’t stabbed me. New Louis Vuitton bags make her very forgiving.

We’re boosted. She had two days of sniffles and a slight cough. I have the same, only 3 days behind.

Not much to do in the room. Surf the net, read the kindle, watch tv, eat, drink, sleep, rebook my flights, go out for another Covid test.

Combination of Groundhog Day and The Terminal.

Damn, at my age and health, the only point of a boost was to avoid infection and you didn't even get that? That's bad luck.

I'm an a-hole, but why not just make it an extra long walk to the testing center? It's not like M6 is on your arse.

What does one do if they can’t afford to pay for the extra 10 days of hotel + delivery food?

one doesn’t travel to London in the first place if that’s the case

You can test positive for months. Hope that doesn’t happen to you.

Well, how's the room service food?

Room service is good. Breakfasts are great- full English breakfast, avocado toast, eggs Benedict, etc. include with the room. No grits though!

It’s a fairly small dinner menu - which we are tired of. It really is Groundhog Day.

On the plus side, Soho is full of restaurants nearby. We had Russian food last night; Japanese the night before. Food is fresh too, as the food Ubers ride motorcycles and only have to travel 2-3 blocks.

Only way to be. If nothing else, you’ll have an interesting story to tell.

Now in the same boat. Took rapid test to leave. I'm the only one positive. Family going home without me. The letter I received seems to imply that you have to isolate for 10 days from onset of symptoms. If a slight sniffle is the onset, hoping I can isolate for 5-6 more days, test again and fly home.

My dude!

We have a Covid test tomorrow at 7:00 am. If negative, we can make our 10:16 flight. If positive, we’re headed straight back to the hotel.

The UK changed the rule to 7 days. You can test on day 6. 2 negative tests in a row and you are released.

So you have to get their permission to leave? I know to get back to the US, you can have a positive test and a doctor’s note stating that you’ve recovered (as soon as 5 days)… because from what I understand, you can test positive for awhile.
