this was like a "frick it, i'm tired of dealing with a coaching search" hire by the ad.

Orgeron would have been a bad hire too but he would have brought more good things to the table than Hall. Hall is not “promoting from within.” He is a losing retread HC who does not deserve a second chance with what has become an excellent Tulane program.

Neal Brown was interested in the job last year when it looked like Sumrall was going to North Carolina.

Pretty sure he would have been interested in it this year.

This hiring process has been strange even for Tulane.

I’m glad for their success and I am rooting for them. But Tulane is in a precarious position. One bad hire could upset the apple cart and it won’t be so easy to return to winning. I’m afraid Hall may be that one bad hire.

This is the same as if LSU had hired Frank Wilson as the permanent head coach.

Hopefully Tulane can fire him after one year if they take the huge step back that I predict and perform an actual coaching search.

Or maybe USM was really that woefully prepared for NIL and he will make the best of the Tulane situation. Probabaly not but maybe.

my son attended on a baseball scholarship and all his teachers were great with him when he had to miss a class! Heck a lot of them attended the games

This is the Tulane state-approved narrative they were planting ahead of this hire

“We’ll keep players. People like him”

Same thing you hear with every lazy internal hire

Tulane is not willing to pay more than they did for Sumrall and to go with it, have next to no NIL budget. Hard to attract an in-demand coach

Yeah and he is even connected to Tulane. Not sure if he was interviewed or if he had any interest.

There are a ton of available coaches who make way more sense than this guy.

For real. “If you participate in extracurriculars you cannot be premed”.

Yea okay. If true, he probably should’ve told someone more plugged in than his uncle before just dropping the class & changing majors.

I’m sure a lot of professors don’t like it, but they don’t get to choose which university policies they’re going to follow

I didn’t go to Tulane.

But, one of the most important things I learned in college is that “compliance” with “policies” is sometimes …. “optional”, “negotiable”, there may be “compensating controls”.

Does Tulane hate success?

Tulane is merely an overflow tank for wealthy East Coast kids who aren't smart enough or that wealthy enough for the Private Upper Crust academic food mills of note.

Tulane simply views Athletics as a nice afterthought that pumps in money to the University. Used to not be that way, and it pisses off older Alumni like my Dad to no end.

What happened to Bayou Billy Napier?

I know he got the HC job at James Madison, but did he ever interview at Tuck Fulane?

He was the best "Fit" for them out of the candidates.

I want the Slime to stay relevant so they can get back in the SEC and give LSU an In-State rival to close the season with.

Frick all this R-Kansas and Oklahoma BS to close it out.

I miss the old LSU-Tulane hate!

Professor said NOPE, there are NO exceptions to his classroom attendance rules
So one professor and he switched his major and the course of his life? Which class? Were there not other professors teaching the same class? Might he have been able to take that class in the Fall? Did he bother going to the department chairman of the athletic academic resource center for assistance with the professor? This story of yours is either incomplete or BS.
