If any of this is even half true, talk about embarrassing.

This is the only thing I doubt. Coordinators don’t have staffs—head coaches do.

I feel completely nauseated after reading this post, and realize how hopeless LSU football is under Miles and Alleva.

oh, he was entertained, Ole Miss has the phone numbers to prove it.

Has noone questioned why would we offer Ensminger FIRST

So no search. And O knew Briles and Kiffin weren’t going to happen, forcing the Ensminger situation.
Exactly what I’ve been saying from the jump.
Yeah, unless Kiffin has no buyout with FAU (possible), then it makes no sense to try to lure away a head coach who literally just sign an extension through 2027 a couple of weeks prior. Now, the financial details of Kiffin's contract have not been released yet but we do know he was making 950k/year on his current contract. Let's say they bumped him up to 1.2 million. If they were offering to double Kiffin's salary to be the OC, I can somewhat see that being enticing to him.
But, Kffin clearly wants to be a head coach at a P5 school again, and leaving a HC position to an OC position would be counter-productive, regardless of the salary he'd be paid. Not to mention, Kiffin just had a 10 win season and will likely get a P5 offer sooner rather than later. I also don't believe he would sign a 10 year extension if he had a huge buyout he'd have to pay were he to leave.
With that said, if the OP has any merit, you're right, there was no search. O wanted Ensminger, was told no, so he just went and offered two guys that he knew would never accept the position or be approved by the BOS so he could mask that as making an attempt to hire someone different.
I hope this is not true. The fact there has still been no official announcement gives me a glimmer of hope the backlash is causing Orgeron and the AD to second guess following through.

You may overestimate the amount the BOS actuallly knows and researched this stuff. I read all the info that came out as part of the FOIA when Miles was fired and it was an act of Congress for them to even get on a conference call
I don't kown what that means.
Briles was hired by FAU last year, and Houston this year. Both coaches basically told everyone, "i don't give a shite what you think of this guy, we've done our research and we are going to win football games"

practically speaking, it's a lot easier to hire a coach with a questionable background to a G5 school than it is a big time P5 school. The fanbase is larger and is much more widespread. The media attention is greater. The public scrutiny is greater. The Houston fanbase, from what I've heard, has voiced plenty of displeasure but you don't hear about it all that much because Houston is Houston and LSU is LSU. If a school like LSU were to hire a guy like Briles, it would be discussed much, much more nationally and be more damaging to a schools PR. That's why no P5 school has wanted to touch Freeze or Briles. If it was only a matter of coaching ability, Freeze would have had a job offer the day he was fired from Ole Miss and Briles wouldn't be coaching at FAU and now Houston.
But, in reality, their backgrounds do matter, for better or for worse. How long ago these things happened matters as well. Briles, for instance, still has pending lawsuits against him as well as expected future lawsuits to be filed.
And while Freeze has no restrictions as an assistant, he does have a show cause as a HC, and that still would be cause for concern for any P5 school thinking about hiring him this year. It's just hard to sell a hire when a guy just got fired and his former school put on probation. if this were a situation like Sark, where he was fired for being a drunk, that's an easier sell, and even Alabama would only take him on as an analyst. He had to pay his time before getting another staff position.

No , there was no conspiracy to remove Miles. The deck was stacked against him and he had a VERY short leash, but I at least agree with the move to let him go.
Did Orgeron see the shining opportunity and run away with it? Yes.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure you are wrong here.
Alleva and Orgeron were working together BEFORE Miles was fired.

If he is as smart as Aranda you do.

To drive Canada away for 1.7 mill and pay Ensminger far less is a direct slap in the face to him and does not reflect well on the already broken Administration.
Even our insiders who point out the admin's faults are morons.
Ensminger's not worth anything close to what Canada was worth when he was hired.
But, I guess that's the problem with hiring somebody like Ensminger. If you paid him what he's worth, it would be an absurd amount (low) compared to peer programs. Now, most people just wouldn't hire that person. At LSU, we just pay him equal with his peers so it passes the smell test.

Posters on here don't believe that what's said on here has any effect on recruiting. And maybe that's true but now you have all that dirty laundry posted in the Hayride (and admittedly, I don't know how much circulation they actually get).
But you have to ask yourself, if you're a recruits Dad and come across that article...there's a high likelihood that you discourage your 4/5 star kid to come here. I know I would.

Can you shed any light on if donors to TAF and to academic funds (Alumni Assoc, LSU Foundation, EJ Ourso School of Business, etc.) have either reduced their donations or threatened to do so over the athletic department leadership vacuum?
I get a phone call about every other week from one of the various LSU funds and about 2 months ago I politely starting letting the person calling me know that I won't be supporting LSU financially again as long as Alleva is athletic director.
The reaction I get is usually resigned acceptance, as if it's not the first time they've been told that.
I realize my small amounts of donations won't move the needle but I'm hoping I'm not alone in taking this stand.
Have you heard anything?

This is the only thing I doubt. Coordinators don’t have staffs—head coaches do.
Coordinators usually have a say in who they want as the position coaches.
Gilbert or any other candidate, if they would bring in their own system, would want the guys to help make that system work. The other assistant coaches have to teach the players the system also, and if they don't know it either, they can't do it.

Orgeron and Aranda have a great relationship. The only real friction was O and Canada.
I would have preferred Canada be the one to stay. Ive talked about this extensively. With Brennan at the helm this year, Canada would have had us operating at an 11 win level. Possible better.
His draw ups for Brennan would have torpedoed the SEC. And O would have had no choice but to play Canadas QB of choice.
This makes me sad to have so many of the pieces in place - and not use them.
