He's not taking another coaching job. If he takes another job, I think it'll be in the college football media.

Giving him that massive guaranteed contract at 60 years old was our mistake. The Notre Dame people had been complaining about how he was less involved in his later years there. Was already beginning to check out. They were happy to be rid of him and surprised we gave him that much money.

To be fair, Kelly spent over a decade at Notre Dame. That's 2-3 games a year, tops, that you have to focus and get up for, another 3-4 that you win unless you totally shite the bed, and then 6 where you could shite the bed and still win.
Doing that as a routine will ruin your effort and pacing. Freeman legit needs to get out of there before it ruins him too.

false narrative.

unless lazy means covid opt outs, brennan injury, BLM/RC getting players to admittedly quit......well then whatever.

Like Semjase posted last season and this season. BK was "Comfortable, coasting and didn't GAF!"

If you’d have paid attention the past 4 years you’d know.

Who reported this exactly? Because it would be grounds for termination with cause.

He probably has two years to find something. After that, LSU will most likely pressure him.

Won’t he be 65/66? No one is hiring that dude.

The only reason he would/should find another coaching job is to salvage whatever legacy he wants to leave his name on.

He is not well-liked in the media. They whined and bemoaned Lane Kiffin leaving Ole Miss for LSU, but really never provided BK with much empathy.

He can fade away and be remembered for getting fired, or he can take another job (and actually fricking do it) and maybe retire semi-successfully as a winning coach.

Unfortunately, other universities already know about his work ethic and won’t even consider him. I do believe his pride will lead him somewhere eventually…hopefully to a team that we can put on our schedule.

I think he was more dumb than lazy. How do you not go out and get an Offensive Line for your veteran QB? He had all of the talent in the world accept that Key number 1 or 2 area. Just like what Burrow is going through now.

At least part of BK’s problem was he couldn’t relate to southern players. ( Aranda talked about this adjustment when he came from Wisconsin). We have a different type of dogs than the “student athletes” he coached at ND and that’s why he was saying certain players were “uncoachable” and stuff like that. It was a bad fit because of this, not because of his accent or being from the northeast or any of that stuff. Miles figured it out and was loved by his players.

Situations like BK will eventually start forcing schools to only offer incentive-based contracts. It's just a matter of time. It will be better for the school and the sport.

Because we want the offset to his buyout.

I would hope future contracts are performance based and have language in there so the coaches can also be measured by their effort. Or lack thereof actually. If they could add up all of Kelly’s time he spent on the golf course, that would add up to a lack of effort and be a cause for firing.

The guy spent half his time playing golf, was clearly coasting along without a care, and we still have to lay him the buyout? That’s some BS.

How many times in the past has this board said a coach would not ever get a coaching job again? Even Kansas hired Miles back.

If Kelly wants to coach again, he will.
