That isn't an outsider's point of view, it's an ignorant point of view.
Brian Polian is the son of Bill Polian, and he's a former head coach at Nevada. He's been Notre Dame's special teams coach for a while and his units have been among the best in the country.
And Frank Wilson has been a head coach at Texas-San Antonio and McNeese State. He's coached in the SEC at Ole Miss and LSU. Nick Saban has tried to hire him at least twice.
Your statement says a lot more about you than Kelly's hires. It says you have no idea what you're talking about.

My only slight concern about BK was his ability to recruit here in LA, after being in the Midwest for the majority of his career. Hiring Frank alleviated that concern. Bringing in Polian to keep the recruiting lines open elsewhere too is also a great hire (not that Frank can only recruit here, but Polian is a good recruiter in his own right).

Two points: first most S&C and ST coaches aren't big names so I'm not surprised you are underwhelmed. I doubt you are doing much research on them and probably don't know who the Arky equivalents are. Second point, you are spot on about Pittman hiring good coordinators. I've been saying all year that Arky's success is due more to Odom and Briles than Pittman and those two aren't long for Fayetteville. When they do move on we'll still have our "Big name HC" and the Hawgs will be cellar-dwellers as usual.
