Bill Belichick and Pete Carroll are both still coaching into their 70's...Mick Jagger is still touring at 82...and Al Pacino impregnated someone at 83...

With Viagra and testosterone shots and Minoxodil, 74 is the new 64. And he still colors his hair so he hasn't exactly mailed it in yet.

Anyone know what Candy Edwards is up to? Maybe they can get her to come out of retirement to entice him back here

Your statement sounds an awful lot like an absolute.

It's perfectly believable. Some people just don't understand the hunger and drive that fuels another human being. I have a 74 year old business partner that's a multi-millionaire and he will NEVER sit in a recliner. Working fuels him.

Saban is a different breed and it's laughable that people don't think it's a possibility.

Ricky Bobby: No one lives forever, no one. But with advances in modern science and my high level income, it's not crazy to think I can live to be 245, maybe 300. Heck, I just read in the newspaper that they put a pig heart in some guy from Russia.

5-10 years from now nobody will reference UNC when talking about Bill Belichick

This. Just like how nobody talks about Bill Walsh's second stint at Stanford after he left the 49ers.

Saban could still coach another 5 years if he really wanted to. His mind is still there. He still has fire in him. He still has passion. Even if he had none of those things anymore, the respect he still would warrant alone would be enough for him to still be a leader of men, and be in a big position of power.

I don’t know man, I think you are overestimating the appeal of playing for a late 70s coaching legend on the age of NIL to these 18,19 year olds.

Just my opinion of course but I just don’t see it really working out as well as we’d like for it to.

Oh I can see him Coaching. I just don't seem him coming to LSU and potentially tarnishing his legacy he made at Bama.

Exactly. Who remembers MJ being exceedingly average his last two years with the Washington Wizards? It’s ignored.

I don’t doubt that he can return and at least put a contender on the field, but (for all his drive and intensity) I think when he cut the switch he did it for good and hasn’t looked back.

That said, if I were Saban and wanted to return to coaching, I would at least go to different school and try to be the one and only coach to win a national title with three programs.

I do not think it’s about money. I think it’s about drive.
