I once met Darren Sharper in Reggie's after an LSU game. It was fall 2010. Don't remember but I assume it was the Saints bye week. It was a cool experience until the news broke a few years later and it hit me that he was on the hunt that night. Here's the real kicker... his wife was with him. I was in the suites last night. Not the governors suite nor LSU president suite. However, if there is a person of public interest in the suites (a celebrity, current visiting pro player, etc) there is a buzz that flows through the suite level and everyone hears that so-and-so is in governors suite or whatever. That didn’t happen last night. I can’t tell you with 100% certainty that he wasn’t there because I didn’t lay eyes on everyone who attended. However I can tell you that if he there, it’s the best kept secret Tiger Stadium has ever had.

This reminds me of Saban’s last game in Orlando as LSU’s coach. There were so many rumors going around, most of us in our section forgot there was even a game being played. And the big rumor? Spurrier was there at the game and would be announced in the coming days……
