Projected #1 seeds Stanford and Indiana both lost. The Mulkey’s to a #1 seed?

Stanford lost to #7 Utah last night so I could still see them being a #1 possibly, but it seems like Indiana should move below LSU in the tourney’s seedings, putting LSU as a #1.

Doubtful, LSUs SOS will keep them on the 2 line. The OOC was horrifically bad in the 300s. They’ve done their job running the table in the SEC to earn a host
Indiana is easily the #2 overall seed behind SC with their resume, they lost on a last second 3 on the road to the #6 team. Thats not going to hurt them
LSU will be a 2 seed come tournament time

Most likely it means Utah locked up their 1 seed and Iowa might've passed us up for the 5th spot/top 2 seed.

Only shot at a 1 seed would be to win the SEC tourney, IMHO

Utah won’t make it through their bracket either way

College basketball does it right and SOS means something. The UGAs of football can’t play the 90 sos and be a number #1 seed yearly. LSU’s sos just isn’t there to be a 1 seed as much as I want them to be.

If we’re a 2 seed with UConn as the 1, do we get home court if UConn doesn’t make it past the 2nd round?

They are not going to give LSU a 1 seed with our non conference schedule.

LSU will be a 3 seed

This. LSU is locked into the 5th/6th spot. Teams behind LSU can pass up LSU with each victory.

Unfortunately Stanford losing basically locks in the Top 5 with Utah now being a committee lock for the #3/4 spot. Will probably be USC, Indiana, Utah, Stanford, LSU.

I think the 2 seeds at this point are LSU, Iowa, UConn and Maryland in some order.

If LSU wins the SEC, and they beat SC in the championship game, couldn't they move up to a #1?
Posted on 2/26/23 at 10:48 pm to PlaySomeHonk
Hell, with Iowa beating #2, I wouldn’t be surprised to see LSU actually fall in the rankings. Iowa somehow jumping LSU while Indiana and Stanford stay put.

NOTHING will move LSU up to a #1 seed and Mulkey said exactly that this week in an interview. Our extremely weak schedule both OOC and in the SEC hurts us. (Note: the SEC is NOT a strong conference this season in WBB.)
Teams like UConn, Stanford, Utah and Indiana played multiple top 10 teams this season. LSU played one top 10 team and got beat badly.
I sure hope CKM upgrades our OOC schedule for 23-24 BIGTIME.

To be honest as long as we make the sweet 16, everything else is gravy. We aren’t deep, won every game we should have, and are way ahead of schedule.
But I agree. It sucks oregon state pulled a McMahon bottoming out because they played some great teams close and have talent. Certainly internal issues like our men’s program though.
to think this is the second worst roster Mulkey is ever going to have at lsu. I can’t imagine any fan having a single complaint or critique though this be the rant baw
As long as LSU avoids South Carolina and UConn I don’t really care what seed we get.

Iowa jumping would be a travesty. Caitlin Clark is good no doubt, but they’ve lost SIX games.

#6 (2nd strongest 2-seed) wouldn't be the worst. Opposite side of the bracket from South Carolina.
