Yep.

Was basically playing with one hand tied behind his back.

It's unbelievable what BK was able to do considering that train wreck of a class.

People really underestimate the importance of mere consistency and reliability in college football. A roster of 3 star upperclassmen who have played together for 3 or 4 years is DANGEROUS in a different way from a roster of 4 and 5 stars where everything is cobbled together in the short term. I cannot wait to see more program wide roster stability that is also loaded with elite talent.

Honest question, did anyone’s 2020 class turn our well? Or was it the 2021 class that was most impacted by covid.

But I was assured Ed was an elite recruiter!

Ed was an elite recruiter. He was a bottom of the barrel evaluator though. When pointed at who to recruit, there is tough to say anyone is better. It was just disastrous when he was choosing where to point to

There are three aspects of the recruiting puzzle. Roster management, talent evaluation, and recruiting. I am not sure Ed was bad at evaluation so much as I think he was bad at roster management.

Phillip Webb and Josh White were the most disappointing outside of the obvious.

He was an elite bagman when he has an elite recruiter head coach to work for

Still crazy to think Arik Gilbert has three years left of eligibility.

And no, Joe Brady leaving for the NFL can’t be the lone reason why LSU went to a place it hadn’t been to in more than 2 decades.

Dave Aranda was a bigger loss. He was O's former boss and AHC who the AD had to step in to make sure they could work together. Complemented O's meathead personality with a more reserved and analytical approach, and O had to swallow his pride and let Dave do his thing with the defense. Once Aranda was gone it gave O full control of the defense and he insisted on going to the 4-3 because that's all he knew as a DL coach, and also because O wanted to stroke his ego as evidenced by the shots he took at Aranda prior to the 2020 season. We didn't have the personnel for that and lazily hired Pelini and that started the disaster of a defense we had the next couple years.

Just let Yaw-Yaw go, he is no longer LSU’s problem. Those who buy mismanagement, do so at their own peril. Sacré Bleu!!!

Puh-lease. Deon ran off like 60 guys at CU. Every one of WW guys left with him. Coaching changes in the transfer portal will always wind up like this.

That was one h*ll of a recruiting class. We should have run off scads of national championships.

Other than Oeaux and rampant attrition, wha happened?

I’m no football expert… why did Pelini do so bad that year? He was a good defensive coach 17 years earlier. I’m just curious if anyone could explain?
