Sources: The New Orleans Pelicans are waiving Garrett Temple,
@hoopshype
has learned. Temple’s $5.4 million salary for the 2023-24 season would’ve been fully guaranteed by July 7 if he remained on the roster.

Is it a formality he comes on as a coach or member of the front office?

Not yet. Lots of talk of bringing him back on a vet minimum contract if we have the cap room.

We better not. What has his "veteran leadership" done for us? I'd rather give that money to a guy who can maybe play. If you like temple that much then hire him as a coach

I agree. Our roster space is pretty limited as is. It may just be people throwing it out there as an idea. I personally don't think it'll happen.

I think this means we're pretty much done in free agency.

It's the 15th spot on the roster, whoever that person is, they cannot play, they are not a valid rotation player.

CJ shot 39% from 3 last year.
Trey shot 41%.
Hawkins in college shot 39%.

Trey
CJ
Hawkins
Dyson
Herb
Jose

Will all be shooting the 3s. I don't hate that group if 2 of the last 4 listed can hit 37-38%

Also wtf bro we don't need a lot of spacing. Zion destroys mfers. We'll be fine.

I think there are legitimate arguments that keeping our core the same isn't wise but we drafted the best shooter in the entire draft...I'm expecting spacing to be improved

It is still a roster spot and should not be reserved for a guy that you know can no longer play. Make him an assistant. No need to take up a spot that you could use to stash a player that may eventually develop.

Sorry bro but Jose, Dyson, and Herb are not 3 pt shooters. I’d throw BI in there before those guys.

Sure but it's just not relevant.

The Heat just went to the Finals wasting a roster spot on Haslem.

The Nuggets won the title wasting a roster spot on the corpse of Deandre Jordan. The 15th spot on the roster isn't changing anything we're doing or can do. I get wanting a younger guy but it just doesn't really
matter enough to really be concerned about, especially when we have 3 2-way slots now available to us.
