What a bunch of pussies if true. They deserve to go 0-2 if that’s the route they go. There is a difference between thinking you can beat a team and saving your ace vs throwing in the towel and planning for game two.
Edit: I forgot they threw him a lot in the conference tourney. I’m a little too hyped up already.

I mean if you're gonna roll the dice roll em hard! Lose game 1 with whoever, win game 2 (against the 4) with your #2 and throw your ace in game 3 against UNC's #3 in an elimination game!

They have a staff ERA of 5-6 so it wouldn’t matter who they throw.

Bold strategy but it could work.
I, too, could assume that LSU can go 1-1 without Jump or Holman pitching. So in this scenario, we are the 3-seed and then face the 4-seed in Game 2.
Now we have Jump going against UNC/Wofford in an elimination and then Holman who could get you to a Game 7.
Now, you never want to go home not having pitched your ace, which is the huge risk. But maybe Wofford likes their chances against teams when they aren't pitching their aces?

It's probably their best chance of beating UNC. It's the same conversation we were having.
Sure you take more risk in game 1, but overall, it significantly increases your chances of winning the regional. In Wofford's case, it probably is the ONLY way to have a chance of winning the regional.

Dude threw a ton in the conference tournament. The real question will be if they use him in a 3 v 4 match up. Ask UNO how well that strategy worked out for them a while ago.

Normally I'd be in favor of using Jump here, but with their ace out, I'd go with Ack and save my two studs for NC.
