Stores(that have any eggs) limiting purchases to 2 dozen, wholesale clubs(Sam’s) with empty pallets, what is up with the chickens? On strike??

Switch to duck or quail eggs. They’re even a lot healthier for you.

Rouses and Super 1 had hundreds of egg cartons and no limits on purchase. Must be local to your supermarket

My family hasn’t paid for eggs for over 4 years, they “live” next to someone who has 6 laying houses

I haven't noticed that. Bought a 36 pack Friday and they had no limits and the price was lower than normal.

Not seeing that in the N.O. area. Wife just got 2 1/2 dozen from Costco the other day with tons of them in the cooler.

It’s not a big surprise to see local shortages this time of year with poultry.
Kinda like tomatoes, in the deep summer heat hens will stop laying. If the farmer doesn’t notice the slowdown and already has a contract to meet he can end up with a depleted set of coops and have to wait for a hatch and growth/maturity of 2 generations (1 to restore production levels and then the next harvest).
Get a combination of the heat and a disease/infection and the farmer can also run low on production. They are not messing around with bird flu: cull 1st, test later.

Because people like you start these type of threads and it spreads like cancer.

I've got 12 dozen on the counter. Well minus whatever my wife sold this morning.

Wow. What’s left to be accomplished in life?

Don't know about eggs, but there must be a strawberry shortage right now.

Yes, egg prices are rising and there is supposed to be a shortage. I haven't seen it at my grocers yet. They always have plenty of eggs, but they are high.

Read an article saying that due to bird flu culling the national stock of egg laying hens is way below normal level. That said, eggs (expensive) are available at TX grocers.

Not just me then. We didn't see strawberries at Costco or Target.

strawberries are far far out of season

Went to Sam's at lunch today, prepared to come back and tell you how many eggs were on the shelves and that this was being overblown...
Hardly any eggs on the shelf.
I didn't need them because I picked up 18 on my last trip, but I made sure to check stock just because of this thread. Hope it doesn't last too long!
