Matt Reeves on the villain for 'THE BATMAN 2'

“I want the emotional part of the story to be Robert Pattinson’s – to be Bruce & Batman’s... I’m excited by the antagonist of the next movie, but I don’t want Batman’s arc to step back to allow space for another group of characters.”

Is this the depressed emo Batman that wasn't really Batman but Se7en with a find/replace function?

If they keep delaying the second one I’ll be in the nursing home by the time the trilogy is complete.

You have been downvoted but I 100% agree with you. The film did a solid job of really highlighting Batman as the "World's Greatest Detective." However, where it really failed was making Bruce Wayne a likable character. Also...the film kind of loses its way when the Riddler allows himself to be caught.

Overall, I thought it was a decent comic book movie but I have had no desire to go back and re-watch it.

that was the point of the movie. He's pretty much all Batman with no Bruce component. by the end of the movie, he reconnects with the citizens of Gotham. He doesnt need to only be "vengeance."

Batman Begins you saw Bruce becoming Batman. This trilogy will really show you Batman learning to reconnect. This is way more Batman comic accurate. in the comics, Robin brings that to the surface.

I would rather see the more comic book style versions of these two than the Reeves "grounded" version.

or Hush

This would be outstanding in the Reeves-verse style.

Yeah, I’m really hoping for Hush. I’d say after Joker and Ra’s Al Ghul, he is Batman’s greatest villain.

I liked super-depressing emo Batman.

Probably my favorite Batman so far.

I'm glad we are getting more of him!

It gets better every time I watch it. Great news on the trilogy. Can’t wait for Penguin.

I would like to see a serious Robin movie from his perspective. Teen out of the circus meets this crazy, mysterious, ninja dude that agrees to train him.

Court of Owls fits perfectly in this Batman world.

I loved the detective story. And my favorite Batman stories are the one where Bruce is the costume, not Batman. A young Bruce, still new, hasn’t learned yet how to be Bruce Wayne because his energy is focused on being Batman.

I like the smaller universe.
