It never occurred to me that the Sheriff of Nottingham was professor Snape

Normally I can see the face and know which movie they've played in before, but for some reason that escaped me until tonight

I still use the quote "Because it's dull you twit, it'll hurt more" way more than I should

Lots of people hate on this movie but Ive always liked it, maybe because of nostalgia. Costners accent never bothered me.

I'm not going to argue something silly like it's flawless or anything, but I ride for RHPOT and will fight for its honor.

It's just highly enjoyable and well made with incredible directing and music. Acting is highly uneven, as some are throwing 1000mph (Rickman, Freeman) but then you have Costner and Slater (America did not send their best).

One of my favorite movies growing up. It's why I've always loved Morgan Freeman and Alan Rickman.

I don't mind Costner but i did in this movie; his nasally American delivery did not work.

I know this might be spoilers for you, but did you know Snape was Hans Gruber in Die Hard, the greatest Christmas action movie ever?

There was a man from Nottingham, who tried to cross a river,
What a dope! He tripped on a rope! Now look at him shiver!

I think it might be the movie I've seen the most as well.

I never knew it got so much hate until reading this board.

Might just have to watch it with my kids this weekend.

One of the best Alan Rickman lines in the movie was him walking quickly through the castle and sees a group of hand maids off to the side. He looks at one and says "You. My room 10:30 tonight." he looks at another one..."You, 10:45....bring a friend." Watched the movie all the time as a kid and never caught it because it happened so quick. Saw it later as an adult and couldn't stop laughing.

That line was an ad-lib by Richman.

Still holds up pretty well. This movie was a huge deal when it came out. And you couldn't get away from that Bryan Adams song. shite, we played it in our band competition field show.

Costner had issues and Slater was terrible. That's why in my thread i specifically said movie and not film

Costner wasn't the worst thing ever. He is cocky-charismatic and played the developing hero well.

Slater was terrible. No redeeming qualities

It was a fun action movie, and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio was gorgeous as Maid Marian.
