D-. Clearly the biggest issue from the game. They were horrible. Caesar Ruiz was getting destroyed constantly.

I wouldn't worry about judging Oline this early. Chargers' Oline looked bad also. Pretty typical in preseason and probably the first few weeks of the regular season for most teams.

Tackles: B+
Center: C
Guards: F

We definitely need an upgrade at OG. And WR. And TE.

It's embarrassing when you can't even find freaking guards worthy of a pro roster spot. They've got first round tackles playing guard and still getting blown up, when that happens those players aren't NFL worthy.

77 was horrible. Was responsible for 4th and G not working and the Rattler fumble.

Banks and Penning looked good at LT & LG, I even noticed a good pass off exchange by them when their defenders performed a cross stunt.

Fuaga looked good in limited time.

Ruiz whiffed on a couple. He's proven to be better than serviceable with a good C & T flanking him like McCoy & Fuaga, so if we stay healthy and Ruiz is our weakpoint then I will view that as a W and a good overall line.

#68 Torricelli Simpkins took a drive or two to warm up but then he settled nicely at C. At North Carolina Central he played C for two years then switched to RG, then transferred to South Carolina and started 13 games at RG last year.

#77 Dillon Radunz absolutely got abused at RT early in the game. Later he went in at LT and did much better. With the Titans he had some playing time at LT due to their injuries but he was mainly a G and even started some before his own injuries. I don't recal seeing him at G at all yesterday.

#60 Kyle Hergel was a mixed bag from what I saw yesterday. I'm still hoping he can develop into legit backup or even serviceable starter similar to Jon Stinchcomb

I think the Oline was pretty bad but I’m not worried about this group. Their film yesterday wasn’t good but ultimately this unit will be really good. I’m not sure how anyone is talking about the wr group as the group that played yesterday was backups for the most part. I did like what i saw from Tipton and Means but appears means suffered another injury

Hard to tell when your star Center isn't playing.

Any word on Penning?

One of them was a first round center that has been playing guard and getting blown up

They were mixing up the oline from almost the first snap to the final one. Seems they wanted them all on film lol
We should get a lot more starter play from everyone next week.

I remember last year when they played the Cardinals. They also looked like crap in the first preseason game. Penning was looking as crappy as ever for example

But it seemed like they pulled the regular starters out faster than usual.

Penning stayed in longer as far as I know, but then he exited the game of course with some injury.

And you know since when has our defensive line look like gangbusters or anything close to it? Because I thought the chargers offensive line didn't look all that good either.

#68 Torricelli Simpkins

He had a rep where he absolutely de-cleated a dude, then did a 180 looking for more work and de-cleated another guy already being blocked. It sprung a nice run up the middle

Caesar Ruiz’s greatest potential is at Center….. he’s NOT a Guard !
But the center spot is taken by McCoy.

What is the injury to Penning ??

They need to play him at guard next week and see if he is worth keeping around. He was abysmal at RT and slightly better at LT.

Pretty sad that a mid first round pick at guard is only serviceable or the weak link in your line. Taking a guard in the first round should turn out to be a pro bowl player.

Agree with this, he plays better at center from the games I’ve seen. Hes not a good guard.

We were dominating Dallas and the first two games with our line before McCoy got hurt. When he is playing, it will be a strength. Right guard is a concern for sure though, although it will be serviceable with McCoy and Fuaga flanking
