We got a chance to sign him coming off injury, simmilar to Drew Brees.
Hopefully his Backup, outplays Burrow and takes them deep into the playoffs. Then they could part ways with Burrow.
And we could snag him up.

Not going to happen

But ironically the opposite could be true. Joe's backup, Jake Browning, has looked good replacing Joe in the past and will now likely get basically this entire season to show his stuff

He is a UFA next offseason...so we could in theory sign him

We are going to be stuck with Carson Wentz after Kevin OConnell fixes him.

From Google:
quote:

Joe Burrow, quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals, signed a record-setting five-year, $275 million contract extension in September 2023, making him the highest-paid player in the NFL at the time. The deal includes $219 million in guaranteed money and an average annual salary of $55 million. The extension covers the seasons from 2025 through 2029 and provides significant salary cap flexibility for the Bengals.

Sure. The Saints can maybe sign him after the 2029 season or whenever the BENGALS are fine with taking the cap hit.

With this chance is Cincinnati just gonna rip up that extension they signed him to?

I feel like even if Burrow hit FA in 2029, he wouldn’t come to NOLA. He seems to not care about Louisiana or LSU anymore.

So you want a theoretical 2nd stringer just because of his name plate?

Chase and Higgins didnt make Joe Burrow one of those most accurate QBs in the NFL. They certainly help with getting open, but Joe would still be one of the best QBs with guys like the Saints have.

Weird. Saints fan thinking his WRs make him when we literally had Drew Brees playing with nobodies and still taking us into the playoffs.

Well Brees was several clicks better than Burrow will ever be. Joe will never elevate an offense like Drew could.

Yeah man, let me tell you those last 5 years of Brees throwing with a bum shoulder for no longer than 8 yards was the epitome of elevating an offense.

Bro, I cheer on Drew as much as anyone. Hell, his signed jersey is on the wall right behind me. But let's not act like Drew elevating this offense his last few years here. He still had the accuracy and the knowledge, but his arm was shot and he never took the top off the defense anymore. They started creeping up to the line of scrimmage and stacking boxes because everyone knew it.

Ok.

Now do the rest of his career here. You know the part that’s actually comparable to Burrow’s.

Hell if Burrow just keeps asking for more and more shiny weapons he may not make it to the bum shoulder phase of his career

The fact of the matter is Burrow has never had success at any level without having some of the best weapons available at that level. Brees has. Hell Burrow struggles to start seasons even WITH two high end targets.

Do we trade the number one pick in the draft for him?
