If you don’t want byes you have to go to 16 teams in the CFB playoffs

The bracket simply will not work without byes with 12 teams. Anyone who’s ever drawn up a sports tournament bracket should know that. It doesn’t matter that people think football is “different.” It simply doesn’t work.
And if you are going to have byes, the top seeds generally get them out of the mindset that being a top seed, you’ve earned something so you get to play one less game.
You will have the same problem if you go to 14.
Of course everyone is going to bitch if they go to 16.
And before you scream go back to 4 or do 8, there’s a better chance of me being the next czar of Russia in a revived Romanov dynasty than there is of going backward on this, regardless of the desires of message board posters. That ship ain’t coming back to port.

Go back to 8. Rarely is there more than 8 teams deserving. Miami included in that even with there win over Ohio ST

The byes aren't the problem. These games need to be on campus and give the higher seed an advantage that they earned during the season.

The bye isn’t the problem. It’s the delay from the end of season to the playoffs. Throw in an extra week for teams that don’t make a conf champ game and it’s just too much.
It makes no sense. Georgia gets a month off and then has only a week to turn around and play a semifinal game if they win tonight. Why not split the difference?

Why not 8. Or better yet 4. Or 2 like the BCS.
Or better yet, just create a semi-pro league these players can play in. Have to be over 18, but under 25. Let college football go back to being college football.

Someone else gets it. Its a media owned playoff not NCAA playoff! As long as eyeballs are fixed to the screen this will continue to grow!
