I just.got back from a trip to Istanbul, Turkey (cool city btw). A waiter at a bar we went to was a 21-year old Iranian. He confirmed everything we hear in the news. Women are publicly beaten if their headscarves aren't completely covering their head. Open homosexuals are publicly executed. They're currency is worthless. His parents sent him to Turkey for college and told him never to come back. They are trying to leave too. He said maybe he gives it a 50/50 chance that the government will be overthrown. He said he never wants to go back and his dream is to come to the US. Very nice guy. Excellent waiter. I wished him good luck. Turkey must takes a lot of refugees. I met Kurds and Syrians there too.
