Yep..LSU family. His son Chris played for 4 years for LSU as well winning the 1988 SEC championship. Prayers to the family!

He was a legend back then. I started going to the LSU games right after he graduated, but I was in Tulane Stadium when his team won the Super Bowl.

I was a wee small kid in '61, but remember that particular catch.

Really the prototypical tight end in that era…tall and rangey. Years after his playing days were over, I would see him at games.
