I’ll be honest. And I’ll get downvoted on here into oblivion, but I think the cop was not in enough danger to pull his gun out and shoot the lady.

He had already got out from in front of that car and then shot.

Was she dumb? Yup
Did she deserve punishment? Yes
Are the democrats to blame? Yes

But it’s hard to stomach how he shot her in that position.

I also think they are both at fault. She should have never tried to drive off and he was too quick to draw his gun considering he was far enough over to get out the way.

The major difference is one of them had a deadly weapon and used it on the official.

I guess he should not have been put in that position.

Ashley did not have a weapon.

Minnesota woman did have a weapon. A car can be a deadly weapon, per law.

I hate all of this BS but if officer Byrd is not guilty of murdering Ashli Babbitt this ICE agent damn sure ain't guilty of murder either.

Yep, don’t block roads or otherwise interfere with Federal officers and the likelihood of getting shot by one goes drastically down.

Do you know how a brain works?

It takes half a second after a physical event occurs for the human brain to become cognizant that the event occurred.

Scientific fact.

The woman created the moment and the ICE agent reacted to the moment....right or wrong that is quite often what happens in these unfortunate incidents.

Well, let's test that theory, shall we?

Had she been given lawful orders to move?
Had she complied?
Did she accelerate toward the officer thus making the vehicle a weapon (and a deadly weapon at that)?
Had the officer not moved out of the way, would she have caused him bodily harm?
At the time of the shooting, was she still in control of the deadly weapon?
If she had not been shot, could she have changed direction and driven at other LEO?

What if it was a gun she had? She shot at him, but he moved to the right just as she shot so he remained unharmed? Would he have been justified to shoot her then?

The weapon used is immaterial. It was a weapon, and she used it to try to injure a human being. Since she was still in control of the weapon, every LEO on the block had the right and the duty to stop her with deadly force to prevent injury to others.

Hard to say he was out from in front of the car on the first shot. Also, you have the benefit of watching multiple videos from multiple angles and in slow motion. He had a split-second decision in that moment to determine if she was driving straight at him to kill him or trying to cut around him to run. Hard to fault him in that moment.

All she had to do was get out of the car. There is no legal carve-out that allows you to hit a cop with your car if you are just trying to flee, and they aren't mind readers to know your intent. She made a lot of stupid and illegal decisions to end up in that moment.

Really?

They told her to stop. She guns it directly towards the officer. 2 tons of steel. Do you know if he hadn’t shot, what she would have done?
Run over officer
Run over someone else while escaping
Causing deadly accident down the road.

And had she barrelled on down the street in her two ton hissy fit and ran over a pedestrian he would have gone to prison for not shooting her.

I always said it’s strange that liberals love unions but hate the police union protecting its employees.
