BK firing thought

Is it possible the intentionally railroaded the program so that he could be fired and receive basically the same compensation for doing nothing?
I mean keeping Sloan and others looked like suicide to me.
I know there have been too many threads on BK, so apologies up front. Just had the thought.

I don't know about intentional, but there is something to be said about guaranteed contracts and complacency.

I don't know but he definitely tarnished his image! For a egomaniac, that hurts!

Definitely possible. You almost have to be trying to fail as much as he did

If Woodward wouldn’t let him fire O line coach and others then he likely said f it.
But it sounds like he just didn’t want to put in the work to be successful.

I have actually thought the same thing but that would be diabolical.

Blame Woodward for that contract

I think BK learned very early in his tenure here things were not going to be fully run like he wanted. I don't think he ever commanded fully respect from everyone here. My understanding is he wanted certain coaches gone and Woodward said no. His decisions kept getting axed, mostly because it was clear LSU was not sold on him due to his laziness. They were not going to massively financially invest in him because they probably felt he wasn't the guy and they likely realized this early as well. LSU was keeping tabs on him so I think they had a plan in place to slowly cut his legs out from under him because they realized the financial mistake they made. It wasn't all Woody. Remember, LSU is ran like politics. So he got super lazy and said f it, they won't let me fully do my job screw them.
I say this because he had the same problem at Notre Dame. The admin and boosters were getting tired of him so BK started blaming everything on them for his laziness. He probably did the same thing here. I think LSU realized their mistake early. There was plenty of red flags in year 1 even with the SEC title game run. Year 2 it was pretty apparent he was in over his head. LSU wouldn't be dog sniffing him with snitches if they felt comfortable with him.

would have been an interesting argument in a courtroom. LSU not fighting this contract based on several issues, and incompetence and lack of effort could certainly be argued with considerable evidence. I think LSU should have fought for at least 25 million

Nice way for you to be a dick. I generally give people the benefit of the doubt, and did with Kelly, so yes I just thought about it.
Trying not being so cynical, it will serve you well.

And why not use those tabs to have some “cause” for his firing? Like other posters, I think there were plenty of ways they could have chipped at his buyout and they just didn’t do it

He’s a POS human so probably

Kelly did not give one shite about coaching LSU.....he started laughing all the way to the bank as soon as the ink dried!

He was lazy.
But I he wasn’t THAT lazy.
He’s arrogant as frick. And he forgot how to work a long time ago. He thought he could win without that personal commitment.
But, don’t make the mistake that what we are seeing now is just the opposite of lazy. It’s not. Kiffin is a fricking monster.

neither side wants to end up in a public court battle.
both sides know all the dirty laundry the other side has.

I’m not cynical at all.
I don’t think BK did it on purpose, I just think he was complacent, and made bad hires on the offensive staff.
Maybe he is just a bad coach.
The point of my post is several months after his firing, you come up with this ground breaking theory and put it out there like no one else has come up with it.
