Seems like an odd portal acquisition.

All I know is Jared Jones hit a piss missile against Tennessee last year and made Tony Vitello quit

It’s literally a depth signing.

Depth and developmental piece.

In the new age of 105 scholarships, if the staff sees a trait in a player that can be developed they are gonna bring them in.

This guy is taking the place of a walk-on in years past.

TL;DR- let Lane cook

It's a depth play, but he did start a number of games as a true freshman at RT and held up at RT pass blocking (like with many Olinemen these days, suffered in run blocking badly)

It's a longer term play, they are probably adding 3-4 more OLinemen still

Quality depth. If I read correctly, he allowed 0 sacks and only 2 pressures last season.

You couldn't have just read the ongoing thread about him?

He only started 4 games, but allowed just 5 pressures including 1 sack in 131 pass block snaps which are very solid numbers for a true freshman RT

Uh, playing for Nicholl's State in about half of their games. As other posters have said, this better be a depth piece because so far, it is obvious that OL SEC CALIBER STARTERS have yet to be addressed. There is still time to do so but OL has clearly been the weakest unit of acquisitions from the portal so far. LSU needs more than "depth pieces".

Odd how? Is it hard to understand they need to replace guys that transfer out, not just starting-caliber players?

Plenty of NFL linemen come from schools like this. I trust Lane

Hopefully he develops into a low star Louisiana stud. Certainly has the tools for it

Most NFL linemen do not come from schools like this. But that is pretty irrelevant anyway. No one here seems to suggest he would ever be a starter at LSU. Multiple posters are saying "depth piece". What LSU fans I'm pretty sure want to see are "SEC caliber starters". So far, the OL recruiting has been lacking to be kind. I'm not in panic mode but objectively the OL has been the weakest part of the incoming portal so far and after QB was the most crucial. Just sayin'

You don’t question the transfers from schools you’ve never heard of, but you question Nicholls?

Truth be told, Nicholls has been pretty solid the last few years.

They don’t expect him to be a day 1 starter, added for quality depth.

Remember how last year, the backup to every position was DJ Chester? The when that didn’t work, the staff went with a true freshman?

That sucked right?

Well, this staff is bringing in experienced depth so that dumb shite doesn’t happen again

You’re a dumbass. You know absolutely nothing about this kid.

Great players come from small schools all the time. The NFL is littered with them.

I guess your dumb username checks out. It almost makes you sound like a troll account.
