Lane Kiffin has completely retooled this roster on paper

What Lane Kiffin and his staff have done with NIL and the portal is mind blowing. He and his staff hit the ground running with who they were targeting and closed on many outstanding proven players from all over.i cannot wait to see how this roster shapes up in the spring and summer practices and who will emerge as potential stars.
What a difference in what Lane Kiffin is bringing to LSU and utilizing the resources he has at his disposal versus what we saw with Brian Kelly the last 3- years.
The best is yet to come, buckle up!

The Faux outrage about Lane coming to LSU, is because people knew/know what’s coming with him here.

He has but I think people forget Kelly had the number one ranked portal class last year. It all looks good on paper but you never know how it will mesh

I'll admit I'm a bit ignorant about how the portal works-recruiting-player contact-agents-etc.
Can someone explain how the coaching staff knows who is going into the portal before they announce? Is it an agent or representative that makes contact with an LSU coach that a player they represent will be declaring and would like to visit LSU?

They lost 40 players and added 40 players. This was always going to happen when a new coach moves over.
I look forward to next year when he can really cherry pick needs and upgrades.

Brad Davis and Joe Sloan are gone, lol. I get what you’re saying though, but a lot of LSU’s problem on offense, was coaching.

LSU can be what Bama was with Saban whenever we have a competent coach to lead the team. I think Lane wants to chase Saban's legacy. He would be talked about as one of the greats if he gets 3 or 4 Championships before he's done at LSU.

Well, it is not supposed to be widely known that a player is going into the portal, until he actually gets into the portal. Now when a coaching staff from another school gets word to a player trying to entice him to get into the portal, that is known as tampering…which is against the rules.

Here's the bottom line.
1. The President has a responsibility to hire an AD that can produce winning athletic programs.
2. The AD has a responsibility to hire the best coaches possible.
3. In this case, the football coach has a responsibility to produce a winning team, and at LSU, that means a team contending for a national title. In order to do this, the coach has to take full advantage of the current environment and win the recruiting battles in the current environment. And today's environment is about maximizing financial resources and being as ruthless in the portal. Just a ruthless as you're going to be trying to stop another team from being successful on a game winning drive. There are no "nice guy" awards in this game. You have to win, and you have to realize the other guy is going to take your players if he can. People shouldn't be naive and think there are a bunch of archangels coaching football teams. They'd do the same thing to Lane if they could. That's a cold, perhaps hard, reality for some people.
LSU is doing all of those things, and that's why LSU will contend for a national title.

I am glad Kiffin is here, but I would slow your roll on chasing Saban. Tiffin has won zip so far. No natty and no conference championships. He has to prove he can win really big games. As of right now it's Kirby Smart who is closet to matching Saban''s legacy than Kiffin.
