Which should serve as a lesson to all the undocumented: get legal or gtfo.
Someone who has been here for 20 years simply has no excuse. What was done was a dick move but it couldn't have happened had he gotten citizenship (or was at least just here in some other legal capacity).

Agreed, somewhere before buying a $4.3 Million apartment and a vacation home in Texas... He could have taken a trip back to Ireland for a few months and gotten a visa.
Heck didn't the left fight this battle so gays could marry and get green cards...
