His size, and because of it, and possible lack of quickness, nimbleness and speed…will it eventually cost us in a big game? I’m thinking about some of the plays Tre’ Morgan made to secure victories.

Should Yorke be used as the DH and allow more speed at 1st?

Comparing any 1B to Tre Morgan is a retarded argument.

This is so dumb. If the reason to pull Yorke out for speed purposes, it would be for baserunning, not for 1B where speed is a non-factor.

Remember when we used to think Tommy White and John Pearson were big boys?

If Yorke were a buck 50 they’d complain he was too small and wonder if a bigger guy would help us win games

Did Bear cost us games at 1B?

Yorke’s a really good defensive first baseman. Morgan was just elite.

It’s actually insane how we still have fans that doubt Jay’s personnel decisions at this point.

And Yorke’s fielding is right there with him. Fielding .995 last year is unheard of.

Dude have you watched him play or just saw he’s thick? The dude can move and has fantastic hands.

No but he may win a game or two for us. If he hit’s it out of the ballpark he could crawl around the bases

Is this a serious question? If so you might need to rethink life.

Morgan was one of, if not THE most athletic first baseman in college baseball over the last 15 years. Please don't compare anyone to him.

If Johnson thought he had a better fielding option at 1B that didn’t cost them more value offensively, he would have that player at 1B and Yorke at DH. He’s going to have the two players who contribute the most value overall at 1B and DH with the better fielder at 1B. That’s Yorke.

was Jared Jones fast and nimble? First basemen who play like Morgan are unicorns

Having watched Yorke at GCU last year... no, not even close.

Fielding percentages are incredibly misleading, especially for 1B. Throws in the dirt that aren't picked don't count as errors, Morgan is miles better at that than Yorke and has way better range on ground balls hit that way.

But again, anyone attempting to compare any 1B to Tre Morgan is just dumb.

Will Casan Evans lack of a 102 mph fastball and superb location cost us this year? I remember Paul Skenes used to have that and wonder if we can ever win without it.

I never played baseball but I follow LSU and will watch the world series. This is a really weird reaction after 1 game. Could it cost us? I mean maybe it could. Could ten ninjas come into my house tonight? Maybe but I don't worry about it.
