The picture they used makes him look proud.

MLB is retarded for not allowing the teams to cut ties completely and not be required to pay him out.

I saw him hit a HR to dead center in a Spring game in the last week with what looked to be minimal effort.
Made me wonder about his power and why he was more sought after as an acquisition over his career.
Honestly didn't know he had been suspended before.

Profar is easily the best FA acquisition of AA tenure.

I know he said when ST opened that he wasn't thrilled with potentially being a DH, but this is a bit extreme to avoid it.

Funny that people still think the clubhouse is oblivious to who is PEDing up.
They know.
They know.

You would think there would be an out in his contract.

You're suggesting they knew before he was signed as a free agent and given all that money? I can guarantee you the Braves did not know he would fail these tests.

Maybe at one point when a group would just be doing PED’s in the locker room, but it’s probably done more on the down low these days.

he said he wasn't playing 1b

Apparently this test was from last year.

Why is Baseball wasting time testing for PEDs
Just let them all do them its a 8mnth season

Teams aren't allowed to independently test players for steroids.

Been a Braves fan since 1989. Since the offseason leading into the 2025 season…….I have never been this indifferent about the team since I became a fan.
I knew they were going to be bad last year, and a big part of that was that Profar was AA’s genius idea of a big signing. I lambasted the signing at the time (on Battery Power and on here IIRC). It was a moronic signing as Profar had NEVER shown any kind of consistency or ability to live up to his “prospect status”.
AA has done an absolutely HORRENDOUS job since 2021 at solidifying LF and SS.
You also have Harris in CF…..who while immensely talented as a defender, he has never been able to hit consistently. I understood why AA wanted to lock him up so soon, but that was my biggest concern with a long term deal was if his bat would progress enough to justify it. To this point it has not (hopefully he has actually figured something out)
The Sean Murphy trade was an ALL TIME STUPID frickING TRADE. You already had a good hitting C in Contreras (who was progressing defensively), so all you did was POSSIBLY improve marginally…….while paying MORE money to Murphy. Now Murphy is a fricking pumpkin (thank god for Baldwin).
Looking at the lineup:
- Acuña - great
- Profar - MAYBE above average (and now suspended)
- Olson- regressed in 2025 because he tinkered with his swing from 2024 (dumb) - He’s back on track though
- Riley - if he can get his timing back on the fastball (and stay healthy) he can absolutely carry this team with Acuña
- Baldwin - He looked overmatched when he first came up (understandable) but he has an approach at the plate that is beyond his years.
- tKim - inconsistent (probable Hole in the loneup)
- Ozzie - can’t stay healthy…..and has one of the worst approaches I’ve ever seen (love the guy though)
- Yaz - above average- good on the strong side of the platoon, decent defender in LF but older
- Harris - massive hole in the lineup
So you have to figure out the DH, Ozzie is a hole in the lineup (as of now), Harris is a hole, Murphy is a hole (if he starts), Kim is a probable hole………not too promising AA.
Not to mention the issues in the rotation. IMO we may be looking at a repeat of last season….. I DESPERATELY hope that I am wrong though
The best thing I can say right now is at least they drafted some bats higher in the draft this past draft. I think Lodise has some real potential to HOPEFULLY solve the hole at SS longterm
