No one knows. People thought Beck would get more AB’s after the Tennessee series last year and he just didn’t

I definitely wouldn't mind seeing Harden get some more playing time especially if Stanfield is still hurt. Could see him getting a start tomorrow but I also haven't really kept up with Stanfield's injury so idk what that situation looks like.

Hardin definitely does, I don't get the hesitancy in giving him a shot. I don't understand the Tanner Reaves infatuation. But he's seen them more than anyone, theres gotta be something there. Stanfield looked to have a cast on his hand last night. I don't see him back for a few weeks. I think theres still time to experiment.

I think with reaves it’s because he’s a left handed bat who can play 3 positions defensively.
In that same breath tho, so is Ruckert, and he’s a much better defender and has been fairly solid in his limited plate appearances. I’d rather see Ruckert than Reeves

Ruckert has probably passed Reaves up now. Ruckert hit 3 balls hard last night. He had the error but the bat still looked good.
Harden is still probably going to have to fight for reps, since you have Braun and Simpson aside from Stanfield.
Yamin may have earned some backup 1B reps. Pearson looked like a bull in a china cabinet and he's very hot and cold at the dish.
All of these things will continue to change.
I'd play all of them again tomorrow. The youngsters played hard.

I came very close to making a "hot take" prediction that Ruckert ends the season as our starting 2B.

I don't get why this is still a narrative. Reaves has started 2 weekend games out of 10 (including last night) the entire season. Pretty sure he was the last of the bench last night in the B7 inning. He's only appeared in 8 games this year. Almost all his run has been in midweek games. And had 3 plate appearances the first weekend. He played in one game in Jacksonville. He started Sunday against Dartmouth. Reaves' opportunities have shrunk as the season has gone on if you've been paying any attention.

I think you just proved his point. For how good reeves is (not good at all) we see him too often.
He reminds me of Jordan Thompson at the plate but is not as good defensively.
I think everyone can agree they would rather see other guys get an opportunity, if it’s the same outcome then so be it but I for one am tired of hearing reeves name during the games.

Jordan Thompson was a better hitter than what Reaves has shown to this point. He had a bad stretch near the end of his LSU career that stains his overall resume here, but he wasn't as bad as his reputation would say.
ETA: Also, I know this is less important on a year to year contribution basis, but in overall development, Thompson was here for his 1st through 3rd years in college. Reaves has been here for his 4th and 5th years.

But that's the thing. We don't see him that often and we're seeing him less and less as the season has progressed because he isn't producing. It shouldn't have shocked anyone that a returning player would get more opportunities earlier in the season than others without experience. Only on this board would people be complaining about a bench player getting playing time in Feb/Mar midweek games and sparingly on the weekends. If he was starting night after night, it might make more sense, but he hasn't been

I wonder if they should try licking the bats before hitting with them... Everything should be on the table.

Should be a DH vs lefties...and nothing more. I think he could do well in that role.

Clearly my entire point went completely over your head, not surprising.
The kid is not good at baseball, not good enough to get playing time on LSU in any game other than a blowout. So once again my point is we shouldn’t see him at all.
Also once again there are plenty of other guys who are unproven that need a shot. Reeves has proven he doesn’t deserve a shot anymore

Ill go with Jay's opinion over yours. The 2 of you don't see eye to eye. Tough decision because you sound like an "expert". We sure do like to hate our own here.

He's been first off the bench or subbed in 8 games, started 3 and has more ab's than Simpson, Serna or anyone off the bench with 21. Also, the lowest batting avg and slug % on the team currently.
