Pink Floyd.
If you disagree, you're wrong.

Wish You Were Here is better than both of them.

I would tend to agree with this.

I'll take "The Wall" for 1,000, Alex!

Hard to rate any albums above The Wall, Darkside of the Moon, & Wish You Were Here. For me Division Bell would probably be #4 & Meddle #5.
However, whichever of those 5 albums is spinning is my favorite in that moment.

You left off Animals, which is a masterpiece

it probably doesn't get the due overall that it perhaps deserves, but nah it's not better than DS

Right up there with "fight me" or "and it's not even close".

that's a bit of a surprise.
Obviously taste is subjective and there's no right or wrong, but to me everythign after the Wall kinda sucks. Ok, maaybe not the Final Cut since that still had roger and felt floyd-like. But definitely TFC and on just doesn't really hit the same, IMO.

I like Meddle and all that. I recognize that was a transition from the PF that was (mainly the one set by Syd and then Roger was finding his way) and the PF of the stratospheric run from DSOTM to The Wall. I also would agree with the proposition that it is criminally underrated.

For my tastes, I completely agree. The post Barrett Pink Floyd LPs I actually ever listen to are Meddle, Obscured by Clouds, More OST and Atom Heart Mother.

As someone who thinks Roger is a brilliant writer but a major a-hole, I always chuckle that Rick was the only one to make money off "The Wall" shows, especially after he got the shaft from Waters.
TFC definitely suffers from a lack of Rick Wright and a relative lack of David Gilmour (who, at that point, had just taken a "let's get this over with" attitude).
It's not a bad album, but it takes a second or third listen to get into it. After all, it was "spare bricks".

I guess I just say it that way because if I play a Pink Floyd LP at home it's usually Works (early singles), Piper, Saucerful or the Barrett solo LPs.
