My first choice is Metric. Wrote their first songs in 2001 and 25 years later they're still releasing one solid album after another.

Iron Maiden has been rock solid for a long time. Dream Theater is another one.

I saw Metric open for Muse a number of years ago. I think I only knew one song but I remember them being pretty good.

RUSH

NO drop in quality. Different - of course. Nearly 60 years of technological change is a major factor. Still jamming some old days music.
My forever band.

Judas Priest
Metallica
Megadeth

May not be exactly what they were in the 80’s but they still are putting out awesome music.

NO drop in quality.

LOL. Signals was a minor drop. Grace Under Pressure was a little bit more and then the bottom fell out.

Where did the bottom drop out? Nine more studio albums after Grace Under Pressure, ranging from good to great.

Power Windows
Hold Your Fire
Presto
Roll the Bones
Counterparts
Test for Echo
Vapor Trails
Snakes and Arrows
Clockwork Angels

WTF? Signals kills. Love that album. Everything after Power Windows was a minor drop. Each album still had at least a few good songs on it though. Test For Echo is the only one that feels like maybe they mailed it in a little bit. Has the two worst Rush songs ever on it. Dog Years and Virtuality. If you haven't heard them, give them a listen, they are so bad I LOL when I listen to them.

Iron Maiden and Tool are the correct answers.

I like Signals too but it came after Moving Pictures, which is one of the best albums of all time. I don't really care for anything after Signals and would rather just listen to early Rush.

100%

Only questionable album of their 6 total is 10k Days in regards to maybe not being on par with the others, but still some amazing tracks.

Well, yeah, anything is going to sound lesser compared to Moving Pictures.

not going to be everyone’s cup of tea but phish has been churning out original music, playing sold out live shows (every one different), and providing new and exciting experiences for their fans since the mid 80’s. Their longevity while never becoming an oldies casino act and always pushing for something unique is nearly unprecedented, and the four person lineup has not changed since their very early beginning

hate them if you wish and many do, but they are one of one in this accomplishment

Avenged Sevenfold. Their most recent album might have even been their best.

I know I'm an outlier but the 80's "synth" Rush is just as awesome and almost a preference for me. The problem I have is when I listen to to them, that era becomes nostalgic and becomes my favorite.

And let me add that Clockwork Angels is the greatest final exclamation point to any band that lasted over 3-4 decades. They hit everything on that one.
