Obviously it’s hot as balls right now but I’m hoping to continue playing into the fall. My club stays open year round but according to them is really only unplayable in the height of winter in January.

Hoping to at least get some fall golf in. I’m near DC so it can get colder in the fall and winter. I’m good on long sleeve polos and pants.

I also have a masters vest and short sleeve but I’m looking to get something long sleeve to break the wind. Probably light to medium weight that I can swing in.

Any suggestions? Also any suggestions for headwear or any other accessories?

I’d rather get some of this stuff before I need it rather than freezing my balls off one day then having to wait a week or two for it to ship.

I like quarter-zip pullovers, long sleeve & short sleeve. I usually get performance materials, wick sweat away, keeps you drier which keeps you cooler/warmer...

Any winter ensemble will work assuming you can swing in it. Baselayer, shirt/sweater, vest/jacket. All the major brands carry 'golf' specific jackets and sweaters. My suggestion is multiple layers just like any other winter time activity.

I typically wear a 3/4 zip pullover during colder days.. got a couple from vineyard vines and Johnnie O ...

For colder days I do have a couple of Foot Joy hoodies... but it's gotta be a cold day.. normally have a thin thermal long sleave layer a polo and then the hoodie..

My setup for cold weather, we're talking in the 40s and 50s without sun type of cold:

Top
Base Layer is usually an Under Armor or the 32 degrees (Costco) base layer
Standard Golf Shirt
1/4 Zip
Sometimes a light vest

Bottom
I have 2 options. Option 1 is a pair of adidas golf pants that are lined with fleece and they are amazing. I cannot find them anywhere or I would get a few more pairs. Option 2 is to wear a pair of Under Armor compression tights (or other brand) and then a thick pair of golf pants.

I have not found a pair of socks that I really like yet, so it's typically just a standard pair of long socks.

I also buy a box of handwarmers from Costco in the fall time and also have 2 rechargeable hand warmers that I got from Amazon which give me some relief. Of course, have the Titleist pouch gloves as well.

Lastly, I have a Mr. Heather that I put in the cup holder that uses propane to run.

Put on a Footjoy toboggan.

That thing is polar rated.

I got some of those last winter. Shove a hand warmer in each one and they are fantastic, especially for someone using a pushcart.

As to the original question, I don't do well with lots of layers. A polo with a Rhoback hoodie is usually enough for me. I'll sometimes wear another layer on top between shots, but I don't swing well with too many layers.

A beanie really helps as well.

Beanie is a no go at my club. I bought a stormy Kromer cap. Should be here today. My wife has one she takes on walks and hikes in the winter so figured I’d get one for myself.

Your club won’t allow beanies?

We have a strict dress code. No casual wear.

Aren't shorts and a ballcap the definition of casual wear? It's certainly not proper.

You can wear non cargo shorts and a collared shirt. But you can’t wear a t shirt and sweat pants or hoodie.

Basically you can’t dress like John Fetterman.

ETA: I wouldn’t mind if the dress code changed to require full golf pants. I prefer the classier look but that wouldn’t fly with the masses.
