Yes it is called the island golf shirt and it’s their Pineapple collection. It’s $80 but my god it is worth it. After wearing it one round I went home and ordered two different ones from their outlet. The palms golf shirt and the palms golf polo.

I will look into the Puma Collection. Hopefully they have XXL Long tail or XXXL.

I usually buy Monterrey Club shirts, they are light weight and wick very well.

We hit a new record in AZ today at 116 degrees. I’ve played the last 3 days in a row and it has been really really hot and dry.

I think I could do better with getting more food, but I can verify for certain that liquid IV is a game changer. This is the first summer I’ve used them and they work. In fact, I find myself drinking at least one a day just to keep up hydration if I don’t even play.

Drinking one 16 oz is equal to at least drinking 32oz if not more.

So is liquid IV a drink or an IV? I have never heard of this either. The names have me confused lol. One is Florida water but can’t be drinking like water and the other is Liquid IV but it’s not really an IV but a drink. I have been drinking this evening so I don’t know.

It’s a drink mix that you put in a water bottle and has an insane amount of electrolytes in it. It’s basically like drinking 4 bottles of water plus electrolytes. It had me feeling fresh all day yesterday and the heat index was 113 here.

Jesus that thing is like PURE sugar.

Interested in trying something tho. I’ve pulled my hamstrings now 3 times in the past month from golf

Try bending down and touching your toes every now and then.

Since we are single in a cart I brought a 2 gallon water jug of Gatorade and put it in the other bag slot.

You need the sugar to absorb the electrolytes.

In your GI system Sodium and glucose are transported together. The sugar is used to carry the electrolytes. It’s there for a reason unfortunately.

Played ET yesterday like an idiot. 117 heat index. Drank a gallon of Gatorade and still felt like I was stroking out towards the end.

Dripping sweat. Hands were soaked. Couldn’t hold on to the club. Slipping in transition. No energy for a full turn. After hole 14 I wanted to quit.

It was ABYSMAL. Will try the liquid IV stuff.

I always use to suffer in the heat when i was younger. I’m 36 now and after the marines I’ve always trained and worked out religiously. Pushing my body and staying in good physical shape and being hydrated and honestly i could play 2 rounds in this summer heat without much effect.

So your response to the OP is to join the marines and work out religiously to stay in summer golf shape?

Lol. No, it’s workout and get in good shape. I’m not saying i enjoy summer heat golf but, i play with a lot of guys who walk around drinking Diet Coke on the golf course talking about how they can’t handle the heat. Being in shape and exercising and pushing your body helps your body handle stresses such as Louisiana summer heat.

Obviously hydrate starting the evening before playing, but Florida Water is a game-changer. One guy in our group Saturday was struggling and about to pass out when he gave in and used an extra Florida Water towel I had. It changed his attitude in a hurry and was able to finish the round without any additional problems. Swore he was going home and ordering some that day.

Put towel over the face and take a few deep breathes. Then hit the back of your neck. Then behind your knees (this spot feels awesome). Finally, wipe down your forearms and return the rag to soak again for next use.

I am surprised no one has mentioned pickle juice to avoid muscle cramps. I’ve not tried it but others swear it helps.

I feel like muscle cramps would only happen if you are walking 18, and I can’t imagine people walking in this heat. I’ve never had a problem with cramping playing golf though. I think I’m going to pull the trigger on some Florida water. Do y’all just keep it in a small ice chest?

Yes, a small 6-12 pack ice chest will work depending on the size of towels you use. I usually put about 3 dishcloth size towels rolled up in the bottom of a 6 pack cooler. Cover with ice, add about 1/4 of bottle of Florida water, and enough tap water to get the towels wet.

Why not? Walked 18 yesterday. Yes, it was hot. But the more you exercise in the heat and humidity, the better conditioned you become. I don't stop exercising just because it gets hot.

Honestly the worst part about walking in the heat right now is that all the water coolers have been taken off the course.
