This is a huge pet peeve of mine! Keep all 4 tires on the cart path, you aren’t in traffic and need to pull off to the side.

I have many buddies that are absolutely clueless when it comes to this.

I play with the marshals every Wednesday. One of the topics for frequent conversation is divots. On 90 degree days, less of a problem, but walkers in particular never fix them.

I was just yanking his chain.

Come to think of it though.. I play a pretty regular game on Sundays at Greystone and honestly outside of 17 I rarely notice the bunkers at all and outside of the giant bunker on 7 and 17’s. Greystone pretty devoid of #bunkers… plus we play pretty damn early and there’s only one group in front of us so they’re rarely messed up..

I sometimes pull one right into the bunker on #2, but you’re right. Very few bunkers. The course makes up for it with water.

If every person would just fix 1 extra ball mark a hole, or fill one divot, or not drive where they are not supposed to…. It would make a huge difference…

I walk around the greens fixing ball marks waiting while waiting in people to putt.

Plus I feel it gives me good karma on the course...

Oh yeah I forgot about 2 having a bunker. It’s saved me a couple of times in a bad shot. I’ve gotten to where I aim at that patch of trees on the left and hit a cut with my 7 wood and 60% of the time it works every time. lol

And yes there’s a bunch of water. The added water on #6 is now quite the pain in the arse. Used to just aim into that hazard area and let her rip. Now it’s a forced layup.

Another random arse bunker that I just thought of is 4. If you wind up in that one you definitely hit a nice draw off the tee but the wrong shot for the hole.

My reference is Pelican and there isn’t one hole without a bunker of some sort.. and if Greystone placed and extra bunker in strategic spots on each hole it would make it infinitely harder.. Think like a deep fairway bunker on 5 in the 240-250 from tee on the left side. That hole is already hard and a bunker would make it just stupid. Same with 6 put a couple pot bunkers close to the cart path on the right side of the fairway making your landing zone even smaller.

frick I’m rambling

My home course does not have sand on the carts nor sand at the tee boxes to fill in divots. It's just not done at this course and the course is always in great shape. I'll have to ask the pro why we don't do it.

A buddy of mine belongs to a country club the next city over. They don't do sand there either and the pro told him to just dent in the fairway divot as that works just fine.

IMO, golf carts do more damage to a course than anything. Walkers do far less damage than cart riders.

Not filling in pitch marks on the green or raking a trap is just lazy.

I belong to a CC that I swear gets a major scramble tournament every other week in the Spring. Y’all think people don’t take care of courses during a normal round, they really give no fricks during a scramble. I know they bring the club a ton of money but the damage most of these hacks do to the courses is mind boggling. Filling in divots and ball marks. Thankfully the carts get killed if you try going to close to the green or they would be driving those carts right to the fringe. I almost have to go outside the wire until tournament season is done so I don’t lose it every time I play.

I’m not saying the course is easy but I don’t find it overly difficult.. Taking 7w off the tee on a lot of holes has definitely helped at Greystone

The thing that really gets to me is sunflower shells on the green. I don't care to even see them in the fairway but I get it, but on the green? How inconsiderate can you be to spit empty shells on the putting surface. Anybody spitting shells on a green needs their head examined.

The cig butts and fake dip pouches are everywhere too. Went to take a leak at Beaver last week and both urinals were full of the dip pouches.

I know this thread is about the course, but putting shite in urinals (what you mentioned and gum), bugs the absolute shite out of me. Where do these people think these items are going when they put them in there? It's not great to put them in actual toilets, but at least it goes somewhere after you flush. I imagine the person leaving these in urinals is thinking "Well, I don't feel like putting this in the trashcan 2 feet away. So, I'll leave it in the urinal so that whoever has to clean it will need to touch it with their hands rather than use just use a scrub brush to sanitize it.

I appreciate that people sand their divots in the fairway, but also recognize it may get overlooked every now and again. You may be away from the cart where the sand bottle is, or you may have a great or terrible shot that just takes your attention away and you forget. But I hope everyone at least remembers most of the time. The grass will grow back in any case, just with a smoother finish if people remember.

The green gets on my nerves. First thing I'll do is search for my pitch mark. It blows my mind how many people don't bother. And for some reason, we have a real problem with people dragging their feet. There were a couple greens yesterday where it looked like the group before us was trying to moonwalk with golf spikes on all around the hole. And in the dry cooler weather, that stuff doesn't tamp down all that well. Also love people who drop the flag hard and then there's a line that will most definitely be running right along where I need to put.

All those courses are not doing over 50K rounds per year. Pelican is 55,000 and that is taking 2 9 hole lakes round making 1. And that's 27 holes of golf.
