Unfortunately both have crept up on me.

I am switching to all graphite in my irons and wedges for good.

With pinched nerves in my neck and wrist issues ongoing, I am going to need a little more help and a little offset.

I decide to switch to the Callaway Ai Smoke irons with the MMT 70 shafts in regular flex.

All my woods and hybrids with now have the R flex Ventus Red shafts.

* it's remarkable that it seems on yesterday that I was playing X Flex shafts... Time marches on.

I just ordered my first graphite wedges.

I know the feeling. I tried a buddies graphite shafted irons the other day at the range and immediately started hitting bombs. I had a bit of a moment where I realized I might have to do the same thing.

There are some NICE feeling graphites out there though. I think my next set of irons will be graphite. They just feel good.

I’m close to making the switch. My woods all have been R flex graphites for a couple of years. Played with a coworker whose 15 years younger than me Tuesday, played from the tees that were 6700 yds (normally I would have chosen the 6200 yd tees but he invited me). Being 30-40 yds shorter off the tee and hitting hybrids and longer irons on Par 4’s sucked. Can’t beat father time

I used to routinely hit it 300+ and a good round was a 65.

Then I had back surgery, and 280 was a big one.

Hit 60, 250….got all of that one. Senior tees….no not yet.

Today, senior tees, but only if it’s wet, cold, windy or my knees hurt. Under par? Yeah if I play the senior tees

How old are you?

What’s your workout and nutrition routine like? Weight?

Turning 70 on a few months.

I'm in good shape and strong at 6'4 and 225.

It's the injuries over the years that are catching up with me.

9 broken bones, 2 spine surgeries, TKR, 6 Artho's, golf ball size tumor removal from my wrist that left a void and on and on...

I turned 70 last month. 4 back surgeries and a lumbar fusion on the way. I made the move to the senior tees on my birthday. Usual rounds were 77-82… since moving up my highest rounds were 77. Lowest a 70 and 71. I say move up and enjoy it. I’m physically hurting the last 3 or 4 holes every round.

Dude just own it. Golf is thankfully a sport that you’ve got lots of equipment options that’ll let you keep playing at a quality level for a long time.

I had a cervical fusion with a cadaver bone 12 years ago.

I'm not sure they use that method any more.

I just don’t play anymore. Haven’t played a round in 3+ years. Keep thinking I’ll go back but after a while you just don’t miss it anymore

There’s no shame in gng to graphite, and my prediction is that in 10-25, everyone will be playing g graphite.

I have watched at least ten youtube guys hit the same head with shafts from X to A and the difference in the results was way less than what conventional message board talk would have one believe. The results were also not linear. When I did my one and only fitting, R and S were basically identical, so I was told to pick based on feel. Did a few blind swings and chose R.

Are you going to play the same MMT shafts in your wedges?
