Anyone who struggles with waking up early found a good reliable solution?

I struggle getting up early but if I don’t I won’t have time to workout later in the day. Anyone found a good solution? My success rate for getting up has been terrible the past 3 months and something has to change

I use my lunch break everyday to go to the gym. Keeps me from eating like shite for lunch and I just drink a protein shake when I get back to work.

Scoop of some pre workout at 5:15 am and I am ready to go.
I still try to get at least 7 hours of sleep at night though. Any less than that and I am groggy next day.

I do the exact same thing.

Wake up at 5 am.
Coffee with devotionals and some scrolling until 5:40.
Energy drink 5:40-6 am.
Gym 6-7.
Maybe you can take something from any of that. Works for me.
First week switching to mornings sucked donkey balls because I’m an afternoon guy. Just showed up tired. Intensity sucked.
Second week not as tired, but intensity still sucked.
By week three I was a beast 6-7 am in the gym.
Been at it for 7-9 months now.

Ride your circadian rhythms, it'll straighten things like that right out.

That’s awesome routine, I have kids I have to make lunches and breakfast for every day and get ready for school and have to be at work by 7 at the latest so no way morning can really work for me. That’s why I adopted the 8pm slot. I train at home so it usually works. Gives me time for weekday practices or getting the kids their lifts in or training in.
Now gonna start trying next week to get up at 530ish and go for 30 min KB walk

What time do you go to bed? I’ve been doing an am workout since Jan and it’s really not even that early…up at 6am….and once I get into the gym and start moving I’m good. But I am totally zonked at 2pm or so after lunch. I’ve played with lunch with no carbs…clean carbs….everything. Nothing short of a few cups of coffee at 2pm helps. If I go to bed earlier I just wake up earlier and I can’t seem to fix it.

What’s a reliable wake up time for you currently? Simply set an alarm 15min earlier for 2wks. And repeat that process until you hit the window you’re looking for.
It might take a few months, but you’re coming out of 3 months of issues so why rush?
People often change paradigms in the “fitness” space too quickly and wonder why they fail. Carb heavy to Keto overnight, sedentary to active overnight, etc. Incremental changes over time always works better IMO - consider it a linear program for sleep cycle.

Consistency
I hated being a morning work out person too, but like you I don't have time to workout in the afternoon anymore as the kids are getting a bit older.
Going on 3 years now with the home gym and consistent 5:10 am alarms on workout/run days, I now have a hard time sleeping past 6am on rest days.
Going to bed earlier is a lifestyle change too though.
I try to be in bed by 930 and head on pillow by 10pm

If I were you I’d find a way to go later in the day
I tried going at 5 am a few different times and never really got anything done because I wasn’t awake enough. And there were never chicks there
I have a gym related question about gym chicks but idk if this is the place for it

Do you get really hungry at work in afternoons?

Yes. The night before I have my workout clothes laid out. I have my pre-workout drink already mixed and in fridge. I have my work clothes laid out. I do this so literally all I have to do is wake up and am ready for the gym and I have zero distractions. Example:
4:20 AM alarm goes off
head to kitchen and make my post workiout shake and put in fridge
get pre workout drink and drink it with my vitamins
relax on couch 25 min and read news
head to gym and arrive by 5:00 AM
that's it. After doing this for several weeks it becomes second nature and very easy. I have no distractions in morning and no excuse not to be up and go to gym. Also, I get 8 to 9 hours of sleep a night which for us baws over 40 is very important (its important for everyone but even more so the older you are)

I've tried working out at night and working out in the morning and I prefer the morning/early afternoon at this point.
I basically push myself through it. I know once I get up, get my clothes, and grab my stuff I'll be good. I take medicine at night that makes me groggy in the morning so I usually just get a glass of really cold water to drink, splash some water on my face, and do it.
I also do much better when I get at least 7 hours of sleep in the night before.

I follow Ron’s plan except I’m 4am and I don’t do pre workout. I have to take a thyroid pill at 4 and wait 30 mins before food or drink. Then it’s coffee on the way to the gym by 5. I don’t get enough sleep, 6-7 hours. I know how important it is but later mornings and evenings don’t work with my current schedule
Posted on 6/6/24 at 9:27 am to thadcastle
My work schedule is shite, I never know what time I’ll get off. Some days it’s noon and some days it’s midnight. So for any type consistency, I had to do early AM.
430 awake
515 At Gym
515 - 630 Lifting and 15 of cardio
7ish Work begins
I miss my morning coffee with wife n kids but they’d much prefer me there in the evening that early morning. Plus the early morning workout has been fricking great. It’s a good feeling walking out at 630 knowing you’ve kicked arse for the day.
FTR, we’re in the rack by 845-9 every night. I’ve always been an early bed and riser.

Sometimes I do. I keep beef jerky at my desk to snack on in the afternoons

It's all about consistency. I love my morning routine, but I'd argue that morning routine's are over-rated...and night time routine's are under-rated. No food after 8:00, no devices after 9:00, and in bed by 9:30.
Alarm goes off at 5:00
Turn on the heater in the bathroom
Go to kitchen to mix pre-workout, and water for the gym.
Back to the bathroom to brush teeth and get dressed
At the gym at 5:30
Leave gym at 7:00
Make protein shake and eggs
At work for 8:00
If any of the above is off, I feel it in all aspects that day. It all starts with night time routine though.
