As best I can tell, thats fake news.
But them going to the "courts" is real. That bridge is burnt.

My favorite part is them bringing in other qbs while refusing to enter him into the portal.
So this seems like they will get another guy then let him go

Look I want him here just like everyone else, but if he would do it to them then he would do it to us. What if we only get one year out of him and he bolts for another school that offers him more. I would just tread cautiously here but I trust Lane no reason not to yet.

As soon as Washington refuses to abide by the portal by-laws, then it becomes a clear NCAA violation by Washington. The by-law is clear a school can not refuse to enter a player in the portal for any reason, and specifically includes any NIL, monetary, or contractual issues as an example schools have used in the past that are now violations.
This is the part that stumps me. What is Washington’s play here? They cannot refuse a player from entering the portal but yet here they are. Also, how is a guy going to play for a coach whose wife called him a POS? It’s like Washington is trying for the worst off season PR with players while ignoring the NCAA.

Pete Thamel was just on Finebaum a little bit ago, and he basically said Washington has nothing they can do. He even went so far as to say the tampering accusations hold no weight.

Well, they could bring suit for collective payback but it’s just not a good look.

The entrance into the portal is what makes it public that you are leaving..but I guess there's nothing that would prevent someone from privately unenrolling and then signing on somewhere else.
These kids all have agents. The portal is being used because the understanding (right or wrong) is that is must be used.

In the Lord’s year 2026, you are foolish if you expect more than a year out of anyone.

We don’t know what happened. We know Williams entered the portal but then withdrew and “re-signed” with UW.
This kid got awful advice from agency, family or others. It’s a clusterfrick all around.
There’s bound to be a flurry of activity on the QB front soon but the clock is ticking on Leavitt and Williams.

Again, I don't really disagree with the sentiment here, but having an understanding that something is the "right way" or "preferred" way doesn't mean there is a RULE governing that it must be used. References to having to sue for eligibility suggest that there is a rule that states that in order to change schools an athlete MUST use the transfer portal. I'm not saying there is one or isn't one - it just seems like that would be the key element here for those suggesting that someone would have to sue or appeal to regain eligibility after not using the transfer portal.

The player hypothetically would then sue the NCAA for eligibility.
Oooooorrrr he could just withdraw from being a student at the University of Washington and enroll at LSU or wherever. Regardless, any money he received from Washington for 2026 season would have to be repaid.

Except that's not what she said. But you go 'head on Grrrl.

What has been posted is part of what she said, and while not calling him a POS, is basically attacking him for announcing he was going to re-enter the portal during a funeral for another student-athlete.
Neither has anything to do with the other and is simply trying to frame him as negatively as possible, which is utterly ridiculous of her and says a lot about both her and Jed Fisch, who is absurdly overrated.
There's a reason Fisch's name kept coming up for a lot of the openings this year and almost no one actually interviewed him or had him as a legit candidate.

I'm sure UW will match his highest offer

I doubt that. Would you want a player who doesn't want to be there?

So this has been in the works in a while. He knew the offer was there in the beginning. But he chose the sign with Washington. I don't fricking understand this whole situation. It's stupid. If we had a way better offer than Washington then why'd he sign with them. It only looks bad on him
He followed his coach when his coach left to go to Washington. That’s kind of understandable.

We verified that was, in fact, Mrs. Fischer from this post, where she wrote, "Announces during a funeral of an athlete at University of Washington how disgusting! While all of his other teammates were at the funeral!"
That’s pretty much calling him a POS.
