Other than mobility, I’d say similar.

Hopefully he has better decision making. That was the problem with Nuss. He could make all the throws

Well, even if you’re correct, mobility is a fricking huge one. Also, he’s been to the playoff.

I bet when he is pressured, he cannot throw the ball backwards over his head like Nuss could.

He will have coaching.

Big difference.

Both gunslingers, but Leavitt is 5x the athlete and makes more plays with his arm from outside the pocket.

Very different style players.

This is a tough question to answer as Nuss was getting mocked as a top 10 pick before the season started.

He can actually throw an accurate deep ball unlike Nuss. For whatever reason Nuss was awful at throwing any deep ball especially down the sidelines. His accuracy was awful all through his career on this. You can see highlights where Sam will throw on the run under pressure 50+ yards in stride on a dime to the WR. They're not similar QBs in the slightest.

Leavitt is also one of the higher graded QBs under pressure.

better decision making
Nuss had some real head scratchers, like throwing a short pass to a blanketed receiver on third and long.

Leavitt the better athlete by a mile. Nuss the better passer but needs a good OL. Nuss more accurate. Leavitt can make something out of nothing where Nuss can’t.

Nuss couldn’t hold Leavitt’s jock.

I think Leavitt makes better decisions, Nuss has a bigger arm (before injury), Leavitt is VERY mobile. Not JD mobile, but he's very quick and can be very elusive.

Bigger arm. Will get out of trouble. Extends plays. Can outrun some whole defenses.

The main thing will be that he is astronomically more gutty and confident than Nuss. He will make mistakes, but he will not go down without trying.

nuss has a bigger arm, leavitt is way way way more mobile and far more dangerous outside of the pocket.

leavitt easily runs for 7 yard first downs when needed.

healthy nuss is not bad, he is pretty damn good. but the modern game needs more mobility at QB
