Incredible haul by Lane. Never remember getting EVERYBODY.

I just never remember any recruiting cycle, HS recruiting or portal that LSU got just about everyone they wanted. Who did we miss on? Can anyone name a player? We certainly got the big fish.

Off the top of my head there was Sorsby to TT. That probably was always going that way with his girlfriend going to school there.

Like the guys above, you could say we missed out on chazz and sorsby. You could also say we missed out on demond williams, but we really didnt want to pay his buy out and his price. Everything considered, I would say we got pretty much everyone we truly wanted and fought for this portal class.

There is no way to spin this as anything other than an A+ grade in the portal. You can give him a plain A on the HS signing if you want to, but on a recruit-by-recruit basis, that grade seems too low with the portal class.
For staff hires, I think he gets a tentative A to A+ as well.
However high expectations were, I think everyone reasonable has to concede he's either exceeded or at least met insanely high expectations to this point.

At the end of the cycle none of those guys sting. Got similar talent, maybe even better talent to replace those guys. I just remember Saban would always be able to pluck a kid or two from Louisiana that would just leave a sour taste in your mouth. None of that this time

This High-school and Portal class is something that could possibly go down in the history books. Its like the second coming of when Saban was at his peak and could cherry pick any player in the country basically.

That's probably true, but having retained Berry/Durham, and added quality depth to fill out the room, it doesn't sting.
If we got Lacey, Berry or Durham (perhaps both) leave.

In addition to the most incredible portal haul ever (FU USC), you have to also factor in the players he convinced to stay. That's essentially the equivalence of transfer portal additions.

To be fair..Chaz Coleman was an upside player. There’s nothing he really did tbh. He only played in 5 games. 6 tackles on the year, 1 sack against FIU. Didnt really get the hype behind him.
Coleman seemed like a guy 1 media person hyped up and everybody followed along.

The ones we did miss on we seem to have been able to move on to an equivalently capable player who we didn’t miss. We didn’t pull Coleman or Wilson, but signed Umanmielen. Sorsby said no, we signed Leavitt. Who else?
If you ask the OM goons we missed out on all but four of their players. And that the four we did get are either terrible (Dottery, leading tackler), a rotational, one-trick pony (Umanmielen, sack leader w/9), or inconsequential players who were always coming to LSU anyway (Watkins and Harper).
What they fail to acknowledge is that OM saved its own arse by beating UGA, which extended their season 6 days beyond the start of the portal. LSU couldn’t wait around and miss out on players waiting for OM to get eliminated. If they’d lost to UGA, there are certainly other players who would have been in play for LSU.
Dumbass on X actually stated in reply to a post about LSU having the best class that ultimately Kiffin “failed” because his goal was to “raid” the OM roster. You can’t make this shite up.

We didn't get all our targets but it sure felt like it and that's what matters! 
I'm very excited for this season. I hope Lane drops 60 on Clemson with their struggles over there.
