I really wish we could get him and him and Clark and whoever other freshmen we get can compete after Leavitt leaves. That’s wishful thinking in this landscape though

Not if LSU staff has anything to say about it, they want him too. They know there’s a wait and see approach on Leavitt’s injury. The reality with his injury this QB1 job is wide open.

He's got to decide now if he wants to play right away at a "lesser" program, or be the backup at a top level one.

Miami isn't going to take him in as the starter I wouldn't think, and I don't believe there's another top 25 type team that still needs a QB

If you can sell him on sitting one more year behind Sam, then it would be a huge pull and setup for the future

LSU wants both (obviously), but I don't see any practical way it would work financially or otherwise. Best case he sits behind Leavitt for a year. He could probably find some school to let him start next season.

I think there's an angle to play here that keeps him in play, but the odds are a bit longer.

Sell first team reps in the spring and who knows what happens with Leavitt's injury history. LSU's QB room is as open as any in the country if you want to be at a major program.

He still is. If Leavitt goes down or not performing up to par, we’re going to need a plan B, so you’re going to need at least 2 options there.

The season can go from great to a disaster real fast, and the last thing we need is a MVB situation to happen where our starter is hurt and we think our backup is good..but he isn’t. So you’ll definitely need 2 confident options there.

Moscona says LSU wants both. That would be incredible.

I wonder if it helps that we can sell him on getting "starter" reps in the spring if Leavitt is out during that time.

Hopefully they let Clark know that was a possibility if they are planning to do that. It would be pretty crappy to bring him in with the expectation he would be QB2 behind a guy likely to be one-and-done, only to bring in a 5-star with 4 years of eligibility left.

My understanding is LSU will still recruiting him, we need one more QB with some game experience.
