Gotta imagine Longstreet was aware of the leavitt situation before taking the visit, and I'm sure the staff let him know the deal.
I bet he's still in play but I also bet Miami comes calling if they haven't already.

In today's game it's more important to be on the field and playing than to be a backup and try to develop on P5 roster.
The P5 program/coach that wants you to develop on the team is the same P5 program/coach that will go out and sign a transfer QB when it's your time to be the starter. Waiting your turn to be the guy is a fantasy.
When it's your time to be the starter, everyone is going to point out that you don't have much, if any, starting experience, especially compared to a transfer QB who was a starter on his previous team/s.

I don't see this happening Leavitt has 2 years if he wants assuming he doesn't tear it up this year for NFL draft. With that said, if he's patient he probably gets the job next year because it's unlikely Leavitt stays over the NFL. Pretty sure he didn't leave USC to be the backup anywhere.

he spent the weekend here before the dead period and took no other visits., while knowing leavitt was our top guy
Not a ton of great options out there as a starter. Even if Leavitt is the presumed starter, shite happens. Chambliss wasn't the starter until an injury paved the way for him.
It's not a bad play for him to be the backup and then be in the catbird's seat to take the reigns in 2027.

This is not realistic. The game has changed. That supposed "catbird's seat" doesn't exists anymore.

Unless you're BK and sink the program and get yourself fired riding with Nuss to the bitter end.

It can, especially when you have a coach with a proven track record at developing qbs and will surround you with elite talent
We couldn’t figure out how convinced a guy that didn’t want to be 3rd string here to be his 3rd string qb there but he did. Is it probable things play out this way? But the people pretending they know for a fact Longstreet is only looking for a guaranteed starting job are guessing and have no clue

Was LSU Longstreet’s ONLY campus visit?
Posted on 1/12/26 at 11:25 am to Tiger30
I'm hearing he's still very much in play.

Could you imagine landing three QB's in a 24 hour period. Goodness, that would be absolutely amazing!

Moscana says Lane is going for Husan also and wants all 3 QB’s
That would be a hellacious haul
We need some big uglies
And we’ve got a serious chance at playoffs
Defense will be solid

His father said point blank he was leaving USCw to start at a top program. His father said it not me, point blank period. Doesn’t mean he will have the option. May have to choose best place to compete or step down in competition to start a year for a smaller school then hopefully come back as P4 starter. With Leavitt injury the reality is the QB1 job is wide open, can’t predict that injury outcome and staff want both QBs.

I just dont see it, dude is in the portal looking for playing time. He’d be in near the same situation as he was at usc. Think he looks elsewhere or goes back there. But i hope im wrong

Usually doesn’t happen but Dante Moore sat behind Gabriel at Oregon and if Moore stays another year Raiola will be doing the same. Again is rare but not impossible.

Hopefully. He doesn't have the rizz to be Lane's QB.

I really do hope LK can sell this kid on a great future at LSU. I have a feeling we are going to wish we had him in a couple of years.
