So LSU was looking at McGill, and Jada got spooked so that's why she left?
Jada Richard left because she was bag chasing an offer from another school

I am hesitant to celebrate her assists because she was playing with that large center.
So Jerry West’s assists were “inflated” because he played with that “large center” Wilt Chamberlain.
I guess assists shouldn’t count unless there’s nothing but trash in the paint.

When you watch her highlights, look at the ball location. She has a nice touch & nice placement when passing to Crooks over a defender in front. Now, whether or not Koval can catch those dimes is the real question.

They could have gone with Liv McGill , who has very similar career shooting percentages, less assists per game, and WAY more turnovers. Williams has an elite assist to turnover ratio. This team needed that. There will be enough shooters. Just need a true big who can impact both ends of the court consistently. The only "big" currently on the roster who isn't undersized is Koval, and I'm not sure she'll ever develop into someone who can dominate.
Without that piece, I see another high-scoring season ending around the same time it has for the last 3 seasons, where we continue throughout the year to struggle against teams with dominant bigs who block everything we put up at the rim.

I read where we are in contact with Fatima Diakhate, a six-five center from Pitt who just entered the portal. Looks like she can move and dominate at times. Her average of nine rebounds a game look good. I hear South Carolina is on her too, so I hope we win this portal recruiting battle. We need to.
We don’t have a scoring-rebounding machine like Angel Reese at four. As good as Knox and ZJohnson are, they are not in Reese-Morrow territory. Lacking another Angel, we do need a five that can move, catch, and rebound better than Koval, and credibly go up against the Lauren Betts’s of the world.
Diakhate starting and being backed up by Koval would be perfect at five. And I may as well keep dreaming—if we could land Oliviyah Edwards, she and Knox would give us further tremendous presence down low, freeing up ZJohnson to play the three.
But of course with the way things are these days, we land Diakhate, then Koval likely bolts for a lesser program where she can start. It’s almost impossible to build effective depth. I don’t know how she does it, but Dawn Staley seems to be the only coach who can stack up five stars on her bench willing to sit and wait their turn.

Do you know if they have been in contact with Oliviyah Edwards?

Yes, please.

Looks like she’d be a nice pickup.
That would give us two 6’5 bigs , thinking they will add one more.

There is no way Fatima Diakhate starts over Koval!

Regardless of who SC or UConn adds, I believe LSU just clinched the best starting backcourt/perimeter (3 guards) in all of women’s college basketball!
Now on to two more

And with the "do not contact" tag.
It doesn't take a Columbo to figure out what is going down here. It would have been too obvious if she entered the portal and signed with Ole Miss all in the same day. So they wait a few days for the fervor to die down, then do it.

Read that Richard got an offer, tried to get Mulkey to match it/beat it. Guess it didn't work out. Now "officially" in transfer portal.

Actually, if you watch the Florida game highlights someone posted here Jada Richard was pretty damn impressive, often outplaying McGill on possessions and then getting burned on some. Both took it to the hoop on each other. But Jada was absolutely lights out as a shooter. Seemed like she made everything. Got off her shot quickly and was quick to the hoop. Of course, she made her free throws and got steals. Starkey described her as the team's best on-ball defender which is high praise.
I know Jada Williams has more experience, but we'll be able to compare better when she faces SEC competition. Granted, Jada Richard was often wide open because they were all guarding MK, Lay, and Big 4. But she did drive and create a number of shots on her own. And she was fast in transition. If they give her the reigns like they say they will, I think she'll thrive at Ole Miss. But I do think her salary demands were beyond what Kim could meet- or was ready to meet. Or maybe she had no shot at all in the situation- Jada had made her mind up.
I think LSU will be fine- whether as good offensively without Jada Richard remains to be seen.

Williams is much better all around, experienced PG. Definitely an upgrade from Richard. Her passing and assists are ridiculously good. Coach Kim loves that. She specifically chose Williams for PG so in Coach Kim I trust. She has played with Mikaylah and Milaysia several times, and they are good friends. They will be good teammates. Her nicknames are Lil Bullet (speed) and Energizer Bunny (high energy). Definitely a fit at LSU.

Who does he say are in her Top 3? I saw where she's taking visits this week to South Carolina and Louisville? Who's the third team?
