Chambliss had 4 yrs and a D2 Natty when he got to OM. Longstreet has 15 pass attempts...

One is not like the other

Gotta have a dual threat in today’s CFB. Not sure a QB who has one foot can do that.

Yes, but there are miles of skill and speed between a Jayden and a Nuss. We need someone in the better half of that range. I'm good as long as they have good awareness, a quick first step, and aren't as slow as Eli and Peyton.

100% nonsense. If Longstreet was as good as Chambliss he would have been the #1 QB at USC, because Chambliss would have been. And although Longstreet's passing is hard to judge with limited PT, he is not remotely the runner that Chambliss is. I have seen him run on highlights and Chambliss would run rings around him as the old saying goes

Until he plays, none of this means anything. He would be a huge gamble. He sat the bench at usc.

If Lincoln Riley didnt play him at all, he ain't all that and for Lincoln to let him go, he aint all that

So tell me why Chambliss was 2nd string to start the year?

Yep Fernando Mendoza and Carson Beck’s tenacious running threat is really what sets those offenses apart.

What you have to have is a quarterback with high IQ and accuracy that is willing to anticipate throws and can throw over the middle. If you add in, pocket awareness and capability then that makes you elite. See 2nd year Burrow, Jaden Daniels, 2024 Nuss, Jaxon Dart, Trinidad Chambliss, Fernando Mendoza.

Not sure what to make of Longstreet kid, but this is wrong. Chambliss rode the pine at OM and would have remained there but for qb1 injury. Likely same at USC. Chambliss was seen as a serviceable qb2 for the big biys.

Both can run. Mendoza looks awkward doing it but he’s effective.

Beck won the game with his legs.

If nuss runs vs OM this year when they were dropping 8 we may win

I want Longstreet for long-term continuity in the QB room. He would be a good bridge for Pop Houston.

Dart played fairly well (3K yards, 20 tds & 11 ints) his first year under Lane without the offensive weapons and defense Longstreet will have at LSU.

Sam Leavitt has two years left but he could easily be gone to the NFL after a solid season and we would be right back in the same situation this time next year.

Neither of them are dual threat which is what I was responding to.
