First off, I'm NOT against taking Longstreet as I was for the Nebraska QB or Lagway of Florida. Having said that, I have watched 8 minutes of HIGHlights of his HS play and the highlights against Missouri State...12 minutes total. On none of the dozens of plays did he throw the ball more than 40 yards. Maybe he had no deep threat WR or the playcalling never gave him that opportunity. Still the fact remains...his ball has some zip on it but he doesn't have the strongest arm on the planet.

IMO, and I have a RIGHT to my opinion before that crap comes up, he doesn't look like a 5* guy to me..more like a 4*. His accuracy is decent but not sensational and once again, throw a pass about 55 to 60 yards to show arm strength. Clark in his highlights threw one about 65 yards.

You didn’t try very hard then. Literally searching “Longstreet HS Highlights” the first thing that comes up is a 2 minute clip. In said clip the 2nd play is an 80 yard TD pass (25 air yards) and the 3rd play is a 39 yard TD pass that traveled at least 45 yards in the air. Hard to exactly judge as 5 of the yards was in the end zone. But anyway it took me all of 30 seconds to find.

Im right there with ya, I see a athletic project at QB that wants starter money. Would have taken Duece Knight over that guy 10 outta 10 times if I was going that route.

Guy, OBVIOUSLY I was talking how far down the field the pass went. I don't give a shite if the receiver ran 40 more yards. Why did you mention and 80 yard pass play if the pass went 25 yards. You need to actually TRY to provide conflicting evidence to what I said...you FAILED miserably.

Actually ATTEMPTED 15 passes, and that was against the school for the blind.

I would like Longstreet, but in no way would I guarantee him a start spot. I would tell him he will have every chance to compete for the starting spot.

I think Clark and his 84 PFF grade would have no problem with the chance to compete for starting spot and no guarantees. If Clark looks at Longstreet and is scared off, we dont need him anyway.

I hope we get Clark but he’s not close to being SEC ready. Does he have a big arm and can run, yes? If you watch his highlights he throws a lot of balls late and a lot of his deep balls have too much air under them. That will not flly with the speed of the secondary in the SEC. He will not see the same separation, closing speed and large windows in the SEC. Doesn’t mean he can’t get there but he’s got a lot of work to do and I like his skill set.

I assess Clark better than you do. I think he is SEC ready BUT that assumes LSU can put an OL out there that can block decently. But you and I agree he has the skill set...big arm...runs like Pavia does pretty much (not the speed demon like Chambliss). But as always, I'm biased by HIGHlights. So if he had bad plays, I don't see those. Don't see them from Longstreet...Leavitt, etc. I also like his accuracy but once again...HIGHlights.

The reality is we get who Kiffin wants and this is all just fun stuff to speculate and discuss. Kiffin and staff know what they’re doing and have a long track record of being successful at it. The only thing they can’t predict is Leavitt’s injury long term. They just base their decisions on doctors recommendations and prognosis. That’s all they can do and hope for the best.

Shhhh…you are not allowed to have an opinion other than Sam “One-Foot” Leavitt on this forum.

You are not allowed to discuss modern medical information on Lisfranc recovery time.

You are not allowed to say it would be crazy to spend $5+ million on a guy who may or may not be ready going into spring/ fall camp/ or the beginning part of 2026 season.

Remember, around here you know nothing and the coach’s are beyond reproach on this issue.

We ride with Leavitt and it was not a sign of desperation in circling back to One-Foot once Williams returned to UW.

If he's your QB1 I hope you and the rest of LSU fans are patient enough to understand he will not fly until year 2. He will have lots of very highs but also very low lows his first year starting. Don't expect playoffs year 1 if he's your QB1. He has almost no experience starting.

I think the thing you're missing is Longstreet is asking for starter money, without ever starting. Why would you commit to 3.5, 4 million a year for a unknown commodity when you could spend 5 and have a ton of experience but just not have it in the spring. But get your new back up a ton of reps. Its year to year even if we sign Longstreet, that doesn't guarantee he's your qb next year.

Where did you get this from? Longstreet us asking for 4 mil? I seriously doubt that.

That might be the case with all of them. Same was true of Underwood at Michigan to an extent. But, who knows?

Usually it comes down to processing speed, intelligence, and confidence when it comes to QBs. Physical gifts are nice, but if you don’t have the head and heart for it, you won’t succeed as a QB

Been plenty of RS freshman last year that balled out. All about what Kiffin wants, I’m riding.

Bring him in as QB1, he goes through spring and fall camp, then starts against Clemson.

No doubt he is a dynamic playmaker and Kiffin’s track record with green QBs instills confidence. Geaux get ‘em.

How did he do last year? How many plays?

What was his PRODUCTION???

If you can't answer these things.. then expecting to win a championship at LSU is delusional.

You guys are Garrett Nussmiering again. You're getting desperate and making BS Up to make yourself feel better.

LSU needs a proven commodity.
