None of these guys care about credits... this isn't like when we all went to school. That's the last thing they care about.

When was the last time you saw somebody that was academically ineligible? That should answer your question.

It’s all fun and games right now.
Give it 20 years and watch how many broke dead end college athletes without anything to fall on there are in the country.
They’ve turned it into a semi-pro league. There’s no retirement or pension. Just a few hundred thousand right now. They’ve made playing the sport a priority, but there’s nothing more coming. It’s a dead end for 99%.
I for one don’t care. I was never for paying them. They’ll get what they asked for. They have taken the passion and loyalty out of the game I loved for greed. Sure pay them a few bucks to get by, but make graduating a priority. Try teaching them about life without football. Seems like the people in charge don’t care about anything but the money and it’s letting these kids down for their future.

To create communists? Or to put you in debt for the rest of your life due to the cost of an "education" 90% cant make a career out of?

The words ‘class’ and ‘school’ aren’t in these conversations.

Now, instead of graduating (or not graduating) with a sports administration degree and not making it to the next level and getting forced into some dead end job to make ends meet, they leave school the same way with a few hundred thousand to a million dollars.
I have friends who finished playing in 2017-2019. Those who didn't make it professionally entered the work force. Don't you think they would have been in better shape at 22 if they entered the work force with a house and $100k set aside in an investment account? I know they sure do.
It's not like the football team frequented the engineering college up until 2021 and abruptly stopped. 99% of these guys major in one of the easy humanities/HSE majors and just try and get by. It's been that way for forever.

What in the world, are we doing about the transfer of school credits so that they graduate?
Who cares? It isn't the schools responsibility that these people graduate. They are given every benefit under the sun. Healthcare, food, housing top notch training, access to any education they desire ( if they do ) hand feed information my tutors all stuff that regular students do not get. If they don't graduate it is on them.

Don’t forget the opportunity for a free college education. And yet, somehow, that still isn’t enough.

The last thing on the players’ minds is class. The farce of scholarships and attending class should be gone. They are strictly free agents on a one year contract.

Make the money now. Take classes later if it’s that concerning.
Posted on 1/3/26 at 8:32 am to ApexTiger
The short answer: No, they don't care
And 15 years from now, iut of football, no degree, the money flows halted, they blame someone else.

Graduation rate for general population college enrollees is 62%.
Graduation rate for D1 atheletes is 90%.
85% for football players.
Transfers are getting scholarships, continuing their education, and are still far more likely to graduate than your average student.
Glass half full.

A lot universities have strict guidelines on what classes they will accept from another university How many of these kids are thinking about their education? 1% make the NFL Student Athlete
Let’s just be honest. Other than the private schools and a small number of others in the P4, this is becoming a semi-professional developmental system. It has been on some level for a while, but now all of the academic “pretenses” but the most basic have been dropped. They will be too, in time.
While it may be reality that only a certain number of P4 players make it to the NFL, most are still going to be focused on football and NIL for the 4-5 years they play. I think the best schools can do is have programs to help players who won’t make it in pro football get their degrees after. Many former players already do this.
The true undergrad student athletes will be in the G5, and especially in the FCS and below.
