That’s so dumb of Simpson to turn down

Also, yeah Leavitt is a much better QB. Glad we got our guy

Starting qb for the Saints will be making $2.7 for next couple of years. If Simpson was offered $6.5 million to play another year against college kids, it’s a very dumb move, financially, to go pro.

He has publicly said that he is okay with playing second fiddle next season.

Simpson knows this draft class is one of the worst ever.

So glad we got Shough last year instead of tanking and picking a QB this year.

That’s why Moore and Loomis make the big bucks and we don’t

He wasn’t a first round pick.
The salaries from the 2025 first round picks range from $12.2M (1st pick) to $3.6M (32nd pick).

He’s currently projected as the #3-4 QB in the class so he’ll likely get drafted before the mid-20s and be making at least close to $5M a year. It’s not worth the injury risk to come back in that scenario.

I don't buy this as being legit. There's no way he was in that much demand.
What? Look, I know he faltered in 4 of his last 5 games, but people still remember his first 10 games. 280 yards and 2 TDs per game. 2780 yards 67% 8.2 ypa 22 TDs to 2 ints in first 10 games. Did you know that Bama's run game was as bad as ours? Same yards per game. Our RBs averaged more yards per carry, but theirs scored more TDs per game. Their run game during the postseason was the worst shite imaginable. They were -3 vs UGA, 25 for 28 yards vs Oklahoma, and 17 for 23 yards vs Indiana.

Every team that was listed to have offered him have a 1000+ yard running back returning.

Maybe Chambliss loves the college game too much
he just might like being a college student. Remember, he spent some time at Ferris State… Not exactly the exciting college experience.

Still don't buy it. That kind of money goes to a QB who can carry your team, and he wasn't that type of player. And, your comments about Bama's challenges running the ball reinforce my point. If he needs a productive running game to be a productive QB, then he's not a $6.5m player. He's just a serviceable QB who can put up good numbers running a balanced offense.

Also, he's picked to be the 3rd or 4th best QB in a weak QB year.

I buy it because they're paying Mensah $6 million on top of his $4 million buyout from Duke. That's $10 million!

I agree, Chambliss should get while the getting is good. He's somewhat of a commodity now, take advantage of that and go pro. That's what Nussmeier should have done last year.

You think if it was him just making all of this up that he would name specific offers from specific schools? That would be easily debunked by the schools. And what have the schools come back and said? Crickets.

You know why that is? I'm gonna let you think about that and see if you've got the common sense to figure it out.

Since the player is going to the NFL, those schools would have no reason to confirm or deny any rumored offers. Denying them is a waste of time and confirming them only serves to run up the price with other prospects.

Do you think he's worth $6.5m? From what I've seen, I certainly don't. I'm just gonna let you think about that and see if you've got any common sense.

JJ McCarthy went 10th overall after handing the ball off 30 times a game for 2 years. I think Simpson will be just fine.

He'll likely fall to a more stable situation after Mendoza and Moore come of the board to NYJ and LV.
Wouldn't be surprised if he goes to Pittsburgh at #21.

I like Simpson he can throw to tight windows and anticipation even before the receiver makes his break. He will be a decent NFL qb

Moore going back to Oregon made this an even better decision for Ty. Go get drafted and lock in a first round grade.
