What did he say to make you think that? Like his actual words?

Ok. Can you show your work? I'm not saying you're wrong but "trust me bro I'm project p on TD and know everything about college baseball and act like a jackass because of it" isn't really helping your point.

fricking douchebag.

No, because there is no one reporting on personal conversations.

There is no one reporting that they had to stop going after Jarren Advincula to put all their remaining resources on Landon Mack. And then the money that was earmarked for Landon Mack was taken from the baseball program and given to women's basketball. And at the time Vitello left, Mack still had not been paid what was promised.

I don't purport to know everything about college baseball. But sometimes I actually know how things really are.

Yes he has said that. Not publicly in the media, but there have been several other people on the board that can confirm it.

Back in 75 the baseball coaches (forgot name) title was LSU football equipment manager. His secondary title was baseball coach. He was equipment first baseball secondary. So no LSU hasn't always taken care of baseball, not until Skip.

That's what I said, baseball was an after thought. I was at those games in 75, cutting class. Yes except for a few games, Tulane for one, the coaches and players out numbered the fans. The coach was the football equipment manager. Heavy set guy, can't remember name.

Not sure why you’re being downvoted. You’re spot on. I would assume most posting in this thread have no clue where the money comes from and that’s ok. But a little homework would probably help them. The comment about we lose money now because of the higher coaches salary was humorous. I would assume he doesn’t know that the majority of CJJ’s salary comes from the TAF. He probably also doesn’t know that baseball usually breaks even except for the years we go to the CWS and/or have to go on the road to a Regional/Super Regional.

This I know. CJJ keeps many things quiet. He speaks his concerns, NOT through the media, but directly to those who can affect change.

The other forgotten/ignored fact is LSU ranks THIRTEENTH in the SEC in actual dollars for baseball revenue sharing. I didn’t have to look that up. Jay told me in October.

Oh I almost forgot. It was 1-2 days before the finals in Omaha started when the recently fired AD called CJJ in Omaha to tell him his portion of revenue sharing was $240K. That took some balls.

How did commitment to baseball do for the last AD?

Yeah. Let’s not test that theory.

LSU could cut their commitment to baseball by 25% and still be more committed than all but 10 programs in the nation.

Gut it.

80%-90% rev to football

10%-20% to men’s BB.

The sports that make money. Get money.

When baseball makes money they can join in.

I feel very confident LSU is always going to position itself to be an elite baseball program. Every coach is going to fight for their cut.

Honestly Graves is such a baseball fan, would love him to make a substantial donation that would set the program up for a few years. Unfortunately it is not my money

Did that have anything to do with why Vitello left? I feel like that's not at all why he left and it's being a little disingenuous to suggest so. Didn't they just pump a bunch of money into a new stadium and other facilities at Tennessee?

The rumor is he was aggravated with women's basketball getting more than baseball.

Is that why he left? Idk. To my knowledge we've never seen a high level college coach even get offered a pro job. He got a solid offer at one of the best spots in pro ball.

I don't know if anyone can say one way or the other considering the circumstances but there were rumblings from UT guys that he was pretty pissed off about rev share.

That being said I don't see Jay leaving. Our rev share might not be where he wants it but there isn't anywhere else that'll pay him what we do AND support him through NIL like we do AND give him the rev share he wants.

You have a legendary coach and you give him less money than 12 other SEC programs gave their baseball coach?

Jay's not asking for more money than the other coaches just equal. There is no reason not to support him like other coaches are being supported. Why would you tie one hand behind his back? Let him at least compete on an equal level.
