I could at least see potential in the 24 team making a run if they got hot. Unfortunately I don’t see that in this 26 team. This team just looks like they don’t give a flying shite. On top of just not being very good. Jay bombed on pretty much every portal player this year except for Cooper Moore. And our young talent has shown that they are not ready yet. So the combination of both of those just isn’t going to get this team very far.

He’s not trolling. He’s quite dumb.

Agree. Vitello had Tennessee in contention every year. That’s my measuring stick.
Jay beats Vitello in the measuring stick that everyone else uses.

I think it's convenient Jay didn't start bitching about resources until he had his worst year yet.

You’re correct, but these garbage seasons have got to stop. ‘24 and ‘26 are monstrosities compared to ‘23 and ‘25. Once Vitello got Tenner built up he consistently reloaded. JJ has got to do so!

I expect JJ to have us hosting a regional every season.

Jay was able to get guys his first couple of years. Other schools are now spending more than LSU. Jay has been trying to raise money behind the scenes. The timeline that is more accurate is that he sees the money Kiffin spent. Then is seeing the commitment made to Wade. Now Jay is upset bc he’s struggling despite delivering hardware to the school

Our fans have been spoiled by 8 national championships in 35 years.
You know how difficult it is to win a NC? Difficult enough that WE are the only school evern close to having that amount of success in that span of time. The very nature of the game dictates that.
But- this is LSU baseball we're talking about. Equivalent roughly to Duke or UConn basketball. As you state, 8 national titles in 35 yrs. Lots of people consider baseball to be the 2nd sport here, ahead of men's basketball. We supposedly outmatch any other school in resources committed to baseball.
You SHOULD expect to be in a regional, and usually hosting it.
Again, the basketball comparison: a regional host is the same as being a top 4 seed in basketball. Not a One seed, not even cutting it off at 3. A 4 seed; the lowest 4 seed would be the 16th overall seed (which is the last regional host).
If we're going to puff out our chests and boast that we're the premier program in America, which lots of people have no problem doing, then the least you should EXPECT is to be in contention to host a regional every year.
This year, coming off a natty and returning a few guys from that team, we were ranked #2 early. For awhile we looked the part. Then for some reason the wheels fell off. We might get it back together, but it shouldn't be this damn much of a struggle.
I wonder if something internal happened, about the time we started losing midweek games.

2024 lsu was pretty dang close to Tenn last year. So that’s just not true. Neither hosted a regional. Both were 2 seeds. Both lost in their regional.

Ok, but dammit I expect LSU to host a regional every season. JJ has got to be able to reload this mo fo every season. I’m sick and tired of these shite seasons following title seasons, and so is everyone else. Of course we don’t expect a natty every season. We probably shouldn’t expect Omaha every season (although Omaha sucks cock without LSU). But this program damn sure should host a regional every year (Top 16 every year!)!

This should be the minimum expectation every year at LSU with the amount of money, resources and prestige this program has. He just signed the #1 HS and portal classes. There really is no excuse for why they are this bad.

Agree, in its own way and given the program stature this collapse is every bit as poor as men’s basketball this season. This is rock bottom.

I’ll take winning at the clip we are or slightly less with a lean year between vs being Arkansas

After this season under Jay (most likely) LSU will have hosted a regional 2 out of 5 seasons. That just isn't good enough there has to be more consistency here

Nah, I'd rather win a title in the odd years and completely miss the field in the even years than to be close every year and only squeak out 1 title...Ask Arkansas fans if they would trade all of their Omaha trips and great seasons for 1 title and 10 terrible years and they would all take the title! Same with aTm in basically any sport!
Even Skip only repeated once! Jay will be fine and will hang another flag before Mason Braun leaves!

No they don't, but they need to beat Ole Miss.
Posted on 4/13/26 at 9:40 am to supersaints9
All we have to do is make it in. Ole Miss was the last team to make it in the tournament when they went all the way to win it all! Just have to play better ball and we can!

Jay is “allowed” an off year in the sense that his job shouldn’t be in jeopardy, which it isn’t.
He’s a great coach and will bring LSU back to the CWS, but this year is a failure if he doesn’t make the NCAA tournament. That should be a given every year.
