Theory.. Verge is good friends with Saban.
Saban is the conduit and vote of confidence for LSU with Kiffin.
Verge or reps fly to Tuscaloosa to meet with Saban where saban helps broker the deal with Kiffin and LSU.

That's an interesting theory, and I've thought of it as well, but Saban has been giving Kiffin messages to stay away from LSU so I'm not sure I think it's the case.

N420PP is a Honda Jet. Never liked them, I can’t get used to the engines on the wing pylon look.
It looks stupid to me. Good chance it ferried two loads of fans up for the game and that’s it.
Schools have learned to make their coach search aircraft private.

Genuine question, why would Saban be involved in LSU hiring Kiffin enough to the point that LSU needs to fly to Tuscaloosa on back to back days? What does “broker the deal” mean to you?

Equally as likely Saban is saying that in public to throw everyone off the scent.

Again, it’s a fun theory. And I came up with it because this sounds more probable than us getting Saban out of retirement.
But regardless, Saban could be discussing with Verge all the structure the program would need to succeed via AD and boosters, as well as the latitude a coach needs from the program to not be meddled with.
Verge agrees with Saban and says that’s our plan, we like your recommendations, we’d accept that with Kiffin at the helm etc etc
Saban then relays to Kiffin and his team that LSU is bought in and they have his confidence it would be a program leaving for.
Kiffin innately should trust Saban. Saban took him out of the spiral he was in and rehabbed him. Kiffin speaks incredibly highly of Saban publicly so I would bet if Saban said “go to LSU” in private, Kiffin would highly consider.
Just my .02.
