Clearly some folks here don’t understand my point. It’s not like the Houston game wasn’t televised and rules infraction data isn’t available. Do your homework. Simple as that.
I completely understand your point and agree with it. I got reprimanded by several posters in another thread saying “Don’t we have a compliance dept? Shouldn’t they be aware if this?”
If the NCAA is telling Pete Thamel that a letter was sent to the University of Houston back in December of last year notifying them of the situation, why isn’t our compliance dept not doing their due diligence with the university of Houston when Haulcey is transferring here?
There is no good reason for LSU to not be aware that he was ineligible to play the first half of the Clemson game. This should have been common knowledge to everyone when he was announced as a transfer. Everyone should have known from the beginning that he wouldn’t play the first half.
Then… it’s a non story this week. There should be zero drama to this whole thing.

Jay Johnson can literally do no wrong now. 2 natties in 3 years is pretty much bullet proof barring missing the post season.

Criticize the program? Because we spend millions on transfers we think that’s a success. We aren’t shite until we win something.
If I’m lsu right now, I’m going research every single transfer player we signed this year to see if they have any similar red flags. Again, that should have been done by now. But ya know. Our program is probably whining and complaining and not responding.

Dude. Haulcy committed to us in May 2025……..the last time I checked, that’s after December. Like by 5-6 months. It’s called lsu program - do your due diligence.
And? Where do you go to see if the Big 12 changed a penalty and instituted a half-game suspension?
Also, do you think we would have taken him anyway? Of course, we would have. Do you think he would have been the starter in every other half of football we play in, including the second half of this game? How much do you think it would have changed the preparation? Not very much, especially since it has been reported that Spears was getting some reps with the ones.

We hope it doesn’t affect us much. Hope isn’t a plan. Just makes us look like a Mickey Mouse operation.
Geaux Tigers. I’m in the same corner as everyone here and proud alum.
Just having fun and using that free speech.
Enjoy the game. LFG. The Real Tigers 37-21

Our program flat out saying we didn’t know about this until this week is just telling everyone we don’t have our crap together.
Haulcy didn't know. Im willing to bet that Clemson didn't know until somebody (probably from the Big XII) told them. The original ruling from the league wouldn't have kept him out. It was changed at some point.

He’s saying we wouldn’t have done anything different regardless so who the hell cares? He was still going to get the same practice reps. He’s not a QB where the whole gameplan is centered around him.

Or we knew it was a possibility and hoped it would fly under the radar so we could play him (rather than bring attention to it) and now we have to play dumb.
Either way, it's a one half suspension for a guy you believe will help the defense an entire season. Whether we did due dilligence or not and discovered this, it would not have changed his recruitment.

Man, some fans will find ANYTHING to be upset about. Almost seems as if you're equating this to signing someone out of the portal who has a major criminal case pending against them and the coaches never looked into that.

I’m not a big ban fan but bashing Haulcy may be worthy

They knew he was called for unsportsmanlike for the fight
The ncaa retroactively changed it to fighting months after
Cooleys happened in bowl game and he isn’t suspended

Did UH file an appeal, or did they say he's transferring, not our problem? Had LSU known at the time of him signing, could they have appealed at that time? Can they appeal to the SEC now?
